The actress is back at the starry ceremony for the first time since 2014

Blake Lively just gave us another reason to go minimalist this season.
After taking a quick break from the red carpet following her stylish floral-filled summer, the It Ends with Us actress, 37, made a return to the CFDA Fashion Awards on Oct. 28 to present — and she took the term “dressed to impress” to new heights.
Lively opted for a pared-down — but no less gorgeous than usual — look, choosing an all-white ensemble. She wore a white Michael Kors Collection gown with a gathered waist and thigh-high slit, topped with a white jacket. She completed the look with crystal-covered shoes and dazzling diamond jewelry.

Lively’s appearance at the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards, hosted by Cynthia Erivo and honoring Erykah Badu among other fashion tastemakers, marks her first in 10 years since she last attended in 2014 alongside designer Michael Kors, who will receive the Positive Change Award during tonight’s ceremony.
She wore a ’60s-inspired look consisting of a Michael Kors Resort minidress, blush suede heels and accessories galore, from her layered bracelets to her headband. For her first-ever CFDA carpet in 2009, she wore a hot pink midi bodycon dress and nude heels.

Though Lively has been off her recent press tour for a couple of months, she’s still been providing tons of fall fashion inspo while out and about New York City.
On a double date with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and their pals Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, the mom of four rocked a decidedly autumn-appropriate maroon sweater dress and plum Valentino heels.
A week later on Oct. 18, she attended a Wine & Food Festival event for her cocktail brand Betty Boozein a 𝓈ℯ𝓍y sheer lace Michael Kors dress (which she later paired with a cozy green cardigan), tall stiletto boots and a covetable amount of statement gold jewelry.

Speaking with PEOPLE in August about her serious game for method dressing, Lively revealed her secret to pulling an outfit together. “I’m a pretty shy person, so if I’m going to go somewhere, I tend to choose a character,” she said. “It’s like, ‘What Spice Girl am I today? Or which character of Sex in the City?’”
