Ethan Slater Breaks Silence on the Challenges of Dating Ariana Grande in the Spotlight.

Ethan Slater, Ariana Grande’s boyfriend, acknowledges that going public with his relationship was “really difficult.” Slater’s affair with the pop diva was made public while he was divorcing his wife of five years.

In a feature that was released on Wednesday, the Broadway star told GQ, “I think there was something that was really difficult about things in your private life being commented on and looked at by the public.”

Ethan Slater opened up about his relationship with Ariana Grande in a new interview.

“It’s very difficult to have people who don’t know anything about what’s going on commenting on it and guessing, then making inaccurate assumptions about the people you love, because there were a lot of significant changes in private lives that were actually happening. It feels quite difficult to deal with that aspect of it.

Slater, seen here posing for GQ, admitted it was “really difficult” to have people comment on private aspects of his life.

“It’s really hard to see people who don’t know anything about what’s happening commenting on it and speculating,” the Broadway star told the publication.

When Slater, 32, and Grande, 31, began dating after meeting on set of the movie adaptation of “Wicked,” not only was he fresh out of a marriage, but so was she.

The “Thank U, Next” singer split from Dalton Gomez after two years of marriage in January 2023, sources previously confirmed. The exes then settled their divorce in October of that year.

Speculation about whether there was any overlap in the relationships and a bombshell interview with Slater’s ex wife, Lilly Jay, in which she called Grande “not a girl’s girl,” sparked an online uproar against the “7 Rings” singer, with some dubbing her a “homewrecker.”

However, sources previously clarified to that while Jay was “rightfully upset” about the end of her marriage, Grande and Slater “didn’t do anything wrong.”

An insider noted that the co-stars began dating two months after the “SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical” star had separated from his then-wife.

Slater was married to Lilly Jay, seen here, when he first met Grande.

Jay previously told amid her separation from Slater that Grande was “not a girls girl.”

Sources previously told, however, that Slater didn’t start dating Grande until two months after he called it quits with Jay.

The pop star was also in the midst of a divorce from Dalton Gomez (left) when she started seeing Slater.

“Ethan is trying to take the high road and hopes he can resolve this situation for the sake of their child,” the source added at the time, referencing Slater and Jay’s 2-year-old son.

Further reflecting on the backlash, Slater told GQ, “I’ve got an amazing support system of family and friends who I talk to and confide in.

“I am really focused on the real people in my life, who those things affect, and doing right by every real person and not the Twitter people who comment on it.”

Grande met Slater when they were both cast in “Wicked.”

She plays Glinda in the upcoming movie adaption of the Broadway musical.

Slater, meanwhile, stars in the role of Boq.

Grande, for her part, has already addressed the criticism via her music in “Yes, And?” — in which she unabashedly asked,  “Why do you care so much whose d–k I ride?” — and in interviews, as well.

The “We Can’t Be Friends” singer told Vanity Fair of Slater in September, “The most disappointing part was to see so many people believe the worst version of [our relationship].

“There couldn’t be a less accurate depiction of a human being than the one that the tabloids spread about him. …. There is no one on this earth with a better heart. And that is something that no bulls–t tabloid can rewrite in real life.”

Grande has also publicly defended her relationship with Slater.

She told Vanity Fair in September, “The most disappointing part was to see so many people believe the worst version of [our relationship].”

Grande added of Slater, seen here for GQ magazine, “There is no one on this earth with a better heart.”

The feelings of admiration are mutual as Slater gushed to GQ how great Grande is in her upcoming role as Glinda in “Wicked,” which premieres in theaters on Nov. 22.

“I’m just really, really proud of Ari and the work she’s done on this. She’s poured herself into it,” he said.

“I’m really proud that I got to be there for that part of it, and I’m really excited to be there for this next step of it when the world gets to see the amazing thing that she did.”

Drake Backs Down: Admits iHeartMedia Did Nothing Wrong in Settlement

Drake had accused iHeartMedia of accepting illegal payola payments from UMG to boost the radio airplay of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” diss. One of the most unexpected developments in the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle was that it evolved from a question of ‘Who won the battle?’ to ‘Who won the lawsuit?’ However, Drizzy has one less target on his list, as he settled a legal petition against iHeartMedia over the Kendrick diss track “Not Like Us.” Basically, he claimed back in November that Universal Music Group (UMG) made illegal payola payments to iHeart in order to artificially boost radio airplay for the West Coast banger. A court filing in Texas’ Bexar County confirmed this settlement, and an alleged iHeart source reportedly spoke to Rolling Stone on the matter. “In exchange for documents that showed iHeart did nothing wrong, Drake agreed to drop his petition. No payments were made – by either one of us,” the iHeartMedia source explained. The court documents did not specify this, however. “Petitioner and iHeartMedia, Inc. have reached an amicable resolution of the dispute to the satisfaction of both sides,” they read. “We are pleased that the parties were able to reach a settlement satisfactory to both sides and have no further comment on this matter,” the Toronto superstar’s team stated separately to iHeart’s comments. Why Is Drake Suing UMG? Despite this move, Drake is moving forward in his UMG lawsuit, specifically alleging that the label and distributor – which he and Kendrick are both under – engaged in defamatory practices. While K.Dot is not a defendant in this suit, the core of the argument specifically portrays his accusations of pedophilia against the OVO mogul as defamatory. The January filing accuses UMG of artificially boosting the track’s commercial performance and engaging in defamatory campaigns on social media through its promotion. Furthermore, UMG faces a March 16 deadline if they want to file a motion to dismiss. They already denied any and all of Drake’s claims. Through his since-settled iHeartMedia petition, he sought to orally depose iHeart corporate employees, and filed the petition to secure more factual information to determine whether to move forward with more accusations in addition to defamation. Aubrey Graham’s team is also calling UMG out for attempting to delay the case despite their ample time to prepare.
