Anthony Joshua usually keeps his love life private, but last week he opened out about why he’s not dating and flirted with sports host Laura Woods in the same sentence, which led to dating rumors.

The heavyweight boxer is adored by everyone, including parents, grandparents, and possibly even the family dog and cat. He may be one of the most desirable bachelors in the nation.

After defeating Jermain Franklin in London’s O2 Arena this week, the 33-year-old became quite flirtatious with Laura from TalkSport, putting his romantic life in the public eye.

After winning the huge fight, Anthony was obviously in a good mood. Instead of discussing sports, he flirted with Laura while they sat thigh-to-thigh on the sofa.

‘You’re my dream date,’ Anthony told the broadcaster while also showering her with other compliments, including telling her how ‘pretty’ she was.

The internet is currently ‘shipping’ Anthony and Laura after her impromptu interview with him on iFL TV backstage after the fight.

Sat (questionably) barefoot in his dressing room, the former Sky Sports presenter gave Anthony a grilling about his love life, while he also returned the questions.

‘What do you think of my career then?’ Laura cheekily asked, to which Anthony replied ever-so smoothly: ‘I think it’s blossomed amazingly… just like you.’

When she asked who his dream date would be, Anthony confessed while staring longingly at the presenter: ‘You.’

Anthony later opened up about his decision to stay single throughout his boxing career, instead hoping to settle down once he retires.

‘With boxing I never wanted to commit as I didn’t want to go training and I’m busy arguing with my missus and my head’s not in the game, so I just decided to keep my head where it needs to be,’ he explained.

Nicole Osborne 

Anthony had an intermittent relationship with Nicole, a fitness trainer he met in school, prior to his success and notoriety.

The athlete announced in 2016 that he and Nicole had welcomed a boy into the world, his first child.

The former couple’s kid, Joseph Bayley Temiloluwa Prince Joshua, is seven years old, and Anthony is reported to have a strong relationship with him. He recently stated that he hopes JJ takes his own way, although he did not specify if he wanted the child to pursue a career in boxing like him.

Anthony is a proud father to son JJ who he shares with ex Nicole Osborne.

Maya Jama 

In 2019, Anthony and Love Island presenter Maya sparked dating rumours when she shared a smiley selfie posing with the boxer.

Fans were beside themselves with excitement thinking they were the new power couple on the block, but it turned out they were simply shooting a Lucozade advert together.

The speculation was only fuelled by Maya’s recent split from Stormzy that summer, but Anthony shut down the rumours he’d moved on with his friend’s ex-girlfriend.

Anthony and Maya Jama were linked after a cosy selfie but it was nothing more.

It was not long before Anthony and model Bella were romantically connected after they were spotted together at the 2016 GQ Men of the Year Awards. Astute social media users also saw that the couple had liked each other’s pictures, but the rumors never materialized.
