Deepika Padukone will soon be completing 17 years in Bollywood. She had one of the grandest debuts of them all when she was seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om back in 2007 that was directed by Farah Khan. That was her Bollywood debut. Her Hollywood debut happened in 2016 with Vin Diesel’s XXX: Return Of Xander Cage that didn’t do the kind of business the makers would have expected. Priyanka Chopra, on the other hand, is now mostly seen in Western films and series.

At the U.S. airport, the photographers mistook Deepika Padukone to be Priyanka Chopra and began calling her Priyanka, and the matter kind of blew up.

In an interview with IANS, the Tamasha actress didn’t have good things to say about this incident and said, “To me it’s racist and ignorant. And as a fellow Indian, you (the media) should also be not very happy about. I think just because people have similar skin tones, doesn’t mean they are same people.”

Padukone added, “As people in a place of power that the media has, instead of creating a tabloid piece of out it, people should be educating them further.”

The two ladies came together for the 2015 magnum opus called Bajirao Mastani where Priyanka completely overshadowed Deepika with her stunning and soulful performance. The ache, the anguish, and the sensual gratification of her gorgeous character made the film a lot more alluring than it was.

What next for Deepika Padukone?

The actress will now be seen as Shakti Shetty in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again and this marks her first collaboration with Ajay Devgn. She plays a character who idolizes one of the most iconic cop characters of Hindi cinema.

However, when the promo of the film came out, most of the social media users were completely unhappy with the kind of performance Deepika put up in the trailer. But this is not the first time that the actress has been brutally trolled.
