Ryan Reynolds shares heartwarming birthday wishes for his mother along with rare family photos: ‘Tam Tam is 80!’

The actor celebrated his mother Tammy Reynolds’ milestone on Monday, Dec. 2

Ryan Reynolds is celebrating his mom, Tammy Reynolds!

On Monday, Dec. 2, the actor, 48, shared a carousel to mark his mother’s 80th birthday.

“Tam Tam is 80!!! Wishing my mom the happiest birthday,” his caption read alongside a video montage of funny moments between the two.

“I still remember the first time I saw her. I was sitting in the backyard one night, holding a flashlight and dozing off. Suddenly she just came waddling out of the shed. It scared the s— out of me!” he joked.

“Later I rode my bike, racing away from our dry desert home and into a deciduous rainforest which somehow coexists just a few blocks away,” the Deadpool & Wolverine actor continued. “Eventually Mom was all like, ‘f— it’ and we straight up, flew into the air while she whispered, ‘Elliot’ every few seconds in a low groan that was both off-putting and quite off-putting.”

Continuing on with the plot of 1982’s E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Ryan wrote: “Later she waddled back into her spacecraft and left earth forever, even though I saw her like four times today alone.”

“Happy Birthday mom. You are the best mom,” he added, dropping the jokes. “We love you. Your grandbabies love you. Most importantly, [Hugh Jackman] loves you.”

While the carousel featured many memories of the mother and son, Ryan’s brother Terry Reynolds also appeared in snaps, as well as Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy. There were a picture of Terry snapped as she posed beside fitness trainer Don Saladino and science broadcaster David Suzuki, too, and a photo of Terry with Ryan’s wife, Blake Lively.

In addition to Ryan and Terry, Tammy raised sons Jeff and Patrick with their late father, James “Jim” Chester Reynolds, who died in 2015.

Through Ryan and Lively, 37, Tammy is the grandmother of granddaughters James, 9, Inez, 8, and Betty, 5, and grandson Olin, who was born in February 2023.

Ryan has regularly shared about his mom throughout the years, posing with her on red carpets, posting about her on social media and even taking her to a taping of the The View back in June.

For Mother’s Day 2022, Tammy starred alongside her youngest son in an ad for his gin company, Aviation Gin. The commercial featured Ryan attempting to make a cocktail called “Mothers Ruin Punch” as Tammy critiqued his every move.

“As this chills for an hour, you’ll want to spend that time reflecting on everything your mom has done for you over the years,” he said, as she teased him about his lack of coasters.”

“Or just add champagne while it’s warm and drink the ever-loving s— out of it,” he deadpanned.
