Russell Wilson, Ciara Share Exciting News Before Steelers-Eagles Game

The Pittsburgh Steelers moved to 10-3 on the season after defeating the Cleveland Browns 27-14 in Week 14.

Ever since Russell Wilson took over as the team’s starting quarterback, the Steelers have gone 6-1. Wilson is playing remarkably well, as he’s completed 64.8% of his passes for 1,748 yards, 12 touchdowns, and three interceptions during that span.

While things didn’t work out for the former Super Bowl champ with the Denver Broncos, he’s thriving in Pittsburgh. “Every day is a special day because I get to do it with the right guys, the highest character, highest work ethic,” Wilson told reporters after defeating the Browns on Dec. 8.

“We are doing it together. That is part of winning. Part of winning is the culture. But it’s also our habits. Success leaves clues. I think we are doing a good job of that.”

With so much success happening on the field, Wilson and his wife, Ciara, are paying it back off the field. Before traveling to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15, the famous couple shared some exciting news.

They wrote in a joint statement on Instagram, “We launched our 1st ever “WHY NOT YOU Center” today at the Boys & Girls Club in Pittsburgh! Our @WhyNotYouFDN is so proud! A dream come true! GRATEFUL! 🖤💛 @Ciara #WhyNotYou.”

One fan commented, “CONGRATULATIONS!!! You guys are such a blessing to do what’s most important not just for kids but for communities. Keep doing your great works.👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.” Another person wrote, “Love this❤️ Russ and Ciara have huge hearts and lifting up and helping others is second to none 🔥🔥🔥 can’t wait to see this flourish 🙌🙌.”

Wilson and Ciara, who share four children together, founded the Why Not You Foundation in 2014.

“The foundation supports student access to equal education opportunities, children’s health and food security initiatives,” the organization states on their website. “Its mission is to equip today’s youth with the s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s and opportunities to become tomorrow’s leaders.”

The nine-time Pro Bowler and the “1,2 Step” singer regularly post about their work with the foundation on social media. Wilson makes weekly visits to the UPMC Children’s Hospital while Ciara recently launched a dance competition that benefits the non-profit organization..
