In a recent sit-down with Shannon Sharpe on his Club Shay Shay podcast, Amber Rose reflected on her past relationship with Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and gave insight into why most of Ye’s lovers dress the way they do.
Rose addressed Bianca Censori’s recent revealing ensemble at the 2025 Grammy Awards, which she believes was styled by Ye. Although the music icon has denied any participation in Censori’s fashion choice, Rose claimed that Ye purposely dresses all of his women provocatively to entice his friends.
“Kanye is for sure dressing her like that,” she alleged. “He did the same thing to me and Kim [Kardashian].” She then took it a step further, claiming that his motivation goes beyond fashion. “He wants all his friends to wanna f**k his girlfriend. He wants everybody [to feel] that — when you walk in a room — his girlfriend or wife is the most desirable in the room.”
Rose, who dated Ye from 2008 to 2010, recalled how she reluctantly complied with his wishes when it came to her wardrobe, though she found ways to rebel. “I was young, and I’m going to tell Kanye ‘no?’” she admitted. “Now, if you look at old pictures of me when I’m dating Kanye but [I was] out by myself? I have all his clothes on.”

Ye and Censori turned heads at this year’s Grammy Awards when his 30-year-old wife made a dramatic red carpet entrance. Wearing a black fur trench, Censori slowly shed the fur to reveal an “invisible” dress that bared it all.
Following the carpet appearance, Ye went on a rampage, posting a string of inflammatory posts on X, where he openly praised Hitler, declared himself a Nazi, admitted to hitting women before and claimed to have “dominion” over Censori—all while reiterating his infamous claim that “slavery was a choice.”
Despite his controversial behavior, Rose admitted that she still sees the “good” side of Ye that she once loved. “It’s hard for me because I do have a place in my heart for Kanye, where I know the good side of him,” she expressed. “I’ve experienced the good side of him. But when he surrounds himself with people that just feed the dark side of him, he’s not living at his full potential.”
“So I feel bad when I see things that he does sometimes, and I’m like, you don’t have somebody around you that’s maternal in a way that’s gonna sit you down and love on you and get you to do the right things,” she added.
The 41-year-old reality star and model also shared her belief that Ye has “enablers around him that don’t actually care about him.”
Although Rose never met Ye’s late mother, Donda West, who passed away in 2007, she believed only she understood how to support her son emotionally.
