開幕戦ではドジャース・大谷翔平投手の真美子夫人がドジャースナインに東京の有名レストラン「エテ」の入手困難な“幻のケーキ”を差し入れたことで話題となった。だが、レガルダのインスタグラムによると、カブスだけのロゴ入りのケーキの写真も公開されており、日本開催の“ホスト”として両軍にケーキを差し入れしたとみられる。
