On March 29 (local time), aespa attended the “Billboard Women in Music” ceremony held at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, USA.
aespa became the first K-pop girl group to rank six songs including the fifth mini album title track “Whiplash” and the first full album’s double title tracks “Armageddon” and “Supernova”—in the Top 50 of the Billboard 200 chart. They received the award for “Group of the Year”.
At the ceremony, aespa delivered a powerful performance of the recently released “Whiplash (English Ver.)”, once again proving their presence as global artists.
Alongside the performance, Winter’s unexpected on-air blunder also became a hot topic. Unaware that her microphone was still on, Winter’s humming and casual chatting with staff were broadcast live. Despite it being a live broadcast mishap, her innocent and harmless remarks like “Sis, can you tie this?”, “Something smells delicious” and “Should I make this more round?” charmed viewers, sparking a wave of reactions calling her “adorable”.

Upon hearing about the incident, Winter responded through a fan platform, “Ha… I’m so embarrassed” and “I can’t believe the mic was on. I’m going to go hide for a bit. Tease me all you want while I’m gone, then call me back.” Her response brought smiles to fans.
The “Billboard Women in Music” awards honor the top female artists, creators, producers and executives who have had a major impact on the music industry throughout the year.
