Jung Hae In Under Fire for Silent Support? Netizens Debate Loyalty Amid Kim Soo Hyun’s Scandal!

Actor Jung Hae-in is receiving backlash after fans discovered he is still following Kim Soo-hyun on social media despite the latter’s deepening controversy over his alleged relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron.

Jung Hae-in Still Following Kim Soo-hyun?

Jung Hae-in recently appeared on MBC’s variety show** “Good Boy”** alongside a lineup of major ’88-born celebrities, including G-Dragon, Kim Soo-hyun, Im Si-wan, Kwanghee, and Lee Soo-hyuk. However, Kim Soo-hyun has become embroiled in a growing scandal after Kim Sae-ron’s family publicly demanded he admit to a romantic relationship with the late actress and issue an apology.

The situation has affected Kim Soo-hyun’s acting and advertisement schedules, including delayed drama releases, edited variety show appearances, and canceled fan events.

Fans noticed that Jung Hae-in had not unfollowed Kim Soo-hyun despite the surrounding controversy. Some netizens began urging him to unfollow, concerned it may hurt his own image. On the other hand, Im Si-wan, also part of the ’88 line and castmate, unfollowed all 80 accounts he had been following, leaving only his agency. His move was interpreted by some fans as an attempt to remain neutral or distance himself.

Netizen Reactions

Reactions have been heavily divided, with comments flooding platforms like X and online communities:

  • “Oppa, please unfollow him. I’m worried for you.”
  • “It’s fine. It’s a personal friendship, don’t interfere.”
  • “What’s the big deal?”
  • “Please act according to your convictions.”
  • “Do fans have to manage their idols’ friendships too?”
  • “Whatever you choose, I’ll support you.”
  • “I hope you unfollow for your own sake.”

Comedian Jo Se-ho, who also appeared on Good Day, was speculated to have unfollowed Kim Soo-hyun, but later clarified, “I never followed him in the first place.”

Meanwhile, on March 31, Kim Soo-hyun held a press conference to deny the allegations and announced a 12 billion KRW (approx. 8.2 million USD) defamation lawsuit against Kim Sae-ron’s family, an individual claiming to be her aunt, and the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute, citing violations of the Information and Communications Network Act.
