Actor Kim Ji Soo has drawn a clear line between himself and fellow actor Kim Soo Hyun, who is currently embroiled in allegations involving an underage relationship.

On the April 7 episode of the Filipino reality show ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition’, Kim Ji Soo was asked about his connection to Kim Soo Hyun, one of the most talked-about figures in South Korea.

When asked if he had ever met Kim Soo Hyun in person, Kim Ji Soo replied, “Not really. I’ve never met him personally.”

Kim’s response sparked immediate discussion online. Some fans of Kim Soo Hyun criticized the comment as distancing or dismissive, while others defended it as a straightforward and honest answer. The controversy surrounding Kim Soo Hyun has extended public scrutiny to his known acquaintances in the entertainment industry.

Actors like Ahn Bo Hyun, Im Si Wan (Siwan), and Jung Hae In—known to have personal ties with Kim Soo Hyun—have faced calls from netizens to unfollow him on Instagram. In response, Ahn and Im reportedly cleared their follow lists, reflecting the shifting public sentiment.

Kim Soo Hyun has denied all allegations, including claims of dating a minor and coercing debt repayment. In a press conference held on March 31, he also announced a lawsuit worth 12 billion KRW (approximately $88.8 million USD) against the bereaved family involved in the claims.

Kim Ji Soo previously faced allegations of school bullying in 2021, which he acknowledged. Following the controversy, he temporarily halted his career. He is currently active in the Philippines under contract with the local broadcaster GMA, appearing in several local dramas.
