Blake Lively And Ryan Reynolds: Every Time The Couple Trolled And Paid Tribute To Each Other
We hope the A-List couple never change.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are one of Hollywood’s most popular couples for a number of reasons.
They look insanely good on the red carpet, are frequently photographed on adorable family walks looking very happy and in love, are proud parents to three daughters, with another child on the way, publicly support each other’s projects and, in spite of their A-List status, are unafraid to mercilessly troll each other on social media.
Not long goes by without one or the other mocking their spouse, be it by using an almost (they are, Blake and Ryan, after all) unflattering photo of each other as birthday tributes, Lively tagging the wrong famous Ryan in an Instagram tribute or teasing one another for promoting their respective business ventures on social media.
Whatever the scenario, we love to see a celebrity couple unafraid to laugh at themselves and not take each other too seriously, just as much as we love seeing what they choose to wear to events like the Oscars and Met Gala.
Starting with the most recent, here’s our favourite times Reynolds and Lively have tore each other down (in a loving way, of course) on social media…
1 Blake Lively calls herself the ultimate ‘Instagram Boyfriend’

After Ryan recently shared a picture of himself at the gym with his personal trainer, who he noted has ‘always been there to help me get back to functionality’, Blake re-posted the picture to her Instagram story with the caption, ‘Find yourself a better Instagram boyfriend than me.’
Lively zoomed in on the picture, which revealed her reflection grinning while taking the picture of Ryan and his trainer. After zooming in several times and sharing each shot to her story, Lively finished with a fully pixellated picture of herself, with the caption: ‘Because I know low key capturing thirst content of your fine ass husband is not just photography, it’s a public service.’
May our favourite A-list couple never stop trolling each other on the internet.
2 Ryan Reynolds’ heartfelt speech at the People’s Choice Awards, December 2022
Ryan Reynolds delivered a loving speech while accepting his Icon Award at the People’s Choice Awards on Monday, December 5 2022.
Speaking about his wife and their three daughters, he heartwarmingly gushed: ‘Thank you Blake and my three daughters. It’s going to be a fourth child very soon. Blake and my girls, you are quite literally my heart, hope and happiness.’
An emotional Reynolds added: ‘I joke that my family exhausts me, but you give me more strength than any man can possibly deserve.’
3 Blake Lively wears white bikini in the sun, August 2022

Blake Lively showed off strong body in August 2022 while seemingly on holiday in sunnier climes. Wearing a white bikini with crossover detailing at the front and a Noughties ring loop on the bikini bottoms, the mother-of-three stood beside a pool filled with inflatables, presumably for her three daughters. ‘Summer lovin’ …had me a blast, [sic]’ the actor captioned the snap.
It wasn’t long before her husband Ryan Reynolds commented on the post, referencing his new Welcome To Wrexham series which documents his purchase of Wrexham F.C with his friend and fellow actor Rob McElhenney.
‘Wrexham is the Ibiza of Wales, [sic]’ he wrote.
4 Ryan Reynolds praises Blake Lively, November 2021
On November 1 the actor attended The WSJ. Magazine Innovator Awards in New York City and took to the stage after being honoured as an entertainment and entrepreneurship innovator.
During his speech he paid tribute to his wife Blake Lively, stating: ‘I want to thank my wife, Blake. She is a genius, she is a renaissance woman and she pushes me in ways that I never imagined I’d be pushed.’
He immediately joked that the latter half of his tribute sounded ‘like a police report’, before noting: ‘Thank you to The Wall Street Journal. To be in this room with these honourees, let alone whatever category this is, is just completely and utterly insane.’
5 Blake Lively Roasts Ryan Reynolds Over Sabbatical, October 2021

Ryan Reynolds announced that he is taking a break from acting, but his wife Blake Lively couldn’t help but make fun of his news.
Sharing a caption to announce his sabbatical on Instagram, Reynolds noted: ‘Perfect time for a little sabbatical from movie making. I’m gonna miss every second working with this obscenely gifted group of creators and artists.’
The actor has just finished filming for the film Spirited.
While some actors, including his Hugh Jackman, Ava DuVernay and Octavia Spencer shared congratulatory wishes on the post, Lively trolled the actor by writing: ‘Michael Caine did it first.’
The actor’s comment was in reference to the British star’s recent comment which implied he had retired from acting, which he later clarified on Twitter did not mean he was retiring..
6 Ryan Reynolds trolls Blake Lively on her birthday, August 2021
To celebrate Lively’s 34th birthday on August 25 Reynolds took to social to make a ‘duet’ with singer Mariah Carey and a rather bold claim about the day.
Carey shared a TikTok video with Reynolds on Twitter, in which the Deadpool star and mother-of-two sing her hit 1995 song ‘Fantasy’.
‘My favourite thing that’s ever happened on August 25th,’ Reynolds later claimed on Twitter.
7 Blake Lively Jokes About The School Run, August 2021
Lively took to her Instagram Stories on August 19 to share a meme that made light of the differences between mums and dads when it comes to the first day of school. ‘This actually made me lol,’ the actor captioned the post, which sees her in distress from a scene from her 2016 film The Shallows and a calm and collected Reynolds posing in one of his Aviation gin adverts.
8 Ryan Reynolds Discusses Being Trolled By Blake, August 2021
As the below examples have shown you, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are masters when it comes to trolling each other on the internet. While our collection of joke comments and doctored photos appears to be an equal-ish split, Ryan has now discussed what it’s like to be trolled by hiss wife… and children regularly.
Asked by People if he is trolled on the internet, Ryan responded: ‘Oh, God, yes, I do. Are you kidding me? I live with one. My wife trolls the crap out of me. Why would I go online? I’ve got it right here at home.’
And by, at home, it’s not just his wife of nine years according to the 44-year-old.
‘Even my daughters now troll me, so like I’m safe from nothing.’
9 Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds on ‘date night’, August 2021
The actors enjoyed a date night over the weekend and, in true Lively and Reynolds fashion, took the opportunity to troll each other.
The pair marked the 10th anniversary of their first date with a visit to the Boston restaurant o ya. The father-of-three shared a selfie of himself and Lively on Instagram Stories outside the restaurant, describing himself in one post as his wife’s ‘fourth favourite date’ before sharing the post again, admitting on the second photo that he’d accidentally cut out his partner’s ‘cute earrings’ in the original.
‘She trained me better than this. Sorry if I let anyone down,’ she joked in the post’s caption. Lively shared the post on her own Instagram Stories with the caption ‘that’s right @vancityreynolds’.
Another photo on Lively’s Instagram Stories saw the pair posing for the camera in their date night attire – a polka dot monochrome dress for Lively and a navy blue shirt and trousers for Reynolds.
’10 years later. We still go out on our “first date”. But in much more comfortable shoes,’ she captioned the sweet snap..
10 Blake Lively.. and then Ryan Reynolds, July 2021
On July 19, Lively and Reynolds documented how they had come across some lost turtles, including one under a car, so sprang into action mode to rescue them. But Lively pondered whether there was another motive for Reynolds sharing photos from the rescue mission with his followers: To zoom in on his arm definition – which she then presented as evidence with a series of close ups of her husband’s arm.
Lively’s Instagram Stories came on the same day that Reynolds Smartless podcast interview with comedy actors Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett was released where he was asked about the origins of his relationship with Lively and responded in typical Reynolds fashion.
‘I met Blake in the darkest crease of the anus of the universe called Green Lantern, [their widely-panned movie] and we were friends and buddies and then about a year and a half later we actually went out on a double date but we were dating separate people… we hung out and we always kept in touch, casually,’ he explained.
‘Next thing you know she was going to Boston, I was going to Boston so I said “I’ll ride with you” and we got on a train and rode together and then I was just begging her to sleep with me.’Pivoting from joke mode, the actor also confirmed to Arnett that it was him that ‘made the first move’ and that their relationship escalated pretty quickly after they crossed the bridge from friendship to relationship.
‘Honestly it was one of those very silly fairytale things, like a week later I was like “we should buy a house together” and we did.’Reynolds said the couple have been together for 10 years ‘which is like 45 years in Hollywood terms’.
