Sherri Shepherd shared insight into her feelings about being eliminated from Dancing With the Stars season 14, admitting she “would love to go back” for another season.
Sherri Shepherd is ready to slip on her dancing shoes.
More than 13 years after the talk show host competed on season 14 of Dancing With the Stars, she reflected on her and partner Val Chmerkovskiy’s exit during week four of the competition.
“I think I was unfairly eliminated,” Sherri explained on the Sept. 22 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “I got eliminated during the tango, and I love salsa, bachata and tango.”
The 58-year-old made it clear that she would love to step back into the ballroom.
“If they have a fan favorite, I would love to go back,” she emphasized. “I loved it. It was the best experience of my life.”

While it’s been over a decade since she competed for the Mirrorball trophy—Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd ultimately took home the prize—she still has a close connection with her competition. She gushed, “I loved being on the show because it’s like such a family. I keep in touch with everybody.”
Even during her 2012 elimination, Sherri delivered a passionate speech about facing her fears while expressing gratitude.
“Thank you for letting me live a dream that I’ve always had,” she said. “I still wanted to say to every person out there that thing that scares you the most, that makes you say, ‘I don’t know if I can do it, I’m scared,’ run towards it because it’s so amazing on the other side.”
The Sherri host isn’t the only star who still feels sore about their elimination. In fact, Zendaya—who was also partnered with Val—reflected on her feelings when she was named runner-up in 2013. (Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough were named season 16’s winners.)

I was only 16 years old, and it was highly stressful. Being on live television every week? It’s so scary.”
“I took it very seriously, which, in retrospect, I wish I didn’t,” she continued. “I wish I’d enjoyed it a little bit more and just was like, ‘Eh, whatever.’ You know what I mean? But I was stressing myself out. I really went through it on that.”
