Mom of Triplets Reveals the Astonishing Amount of Milk She Needs to Feed All Three Babies — and Her Powerful Response to Critics Who Said She Couldn’t Do It
A Missouri mom has stunned the internet after revealing the incredible amount of breastmilk she produces each day to feed her triplets—and how she proved wrong those who insisted it couldn’t be done.

Nina Dufrenne, 27, from Missouri, became a mother of three when she gave birth to Aubree, Emma, and Louis at just 29 weeks pregnant in January. Born prematurely, the babies were rushed to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and placed on ventilators shortly after birth.
“I couldn’t even touch them,” Nina told Today Parents. “The only thing I could do for them was provide milk. So I think I kind of became emotionally attached to it.”
“You Won’t Make Enough”
To mark six months of her breastfeeding journey, Nina shared a heartfelt video on TikTok showing her pumping milk, delivering bottles to the NICU, and later nursing all three babies once they came home.

The video also highlighted some of the discouraging comments she received from hospital staff and strangers along the way.
“We don’t really see triplet moms successfully breastfeed,” one person told her.
“Being good bottle feeders will get them out of the NICU faster,” said another.
Others doubted whether the babies would ever learn to latch after being on feeding tubes—or if Nina could possibly produce enough milk to sustain three newborns.
Some even warned her she would “never sleep again” if she tried to breastfeed all of them.
Proving Everyone Wrong
But Nina refused to give up. Her video showed her nursing each baby and proudly displaying a refrigerator packed with bottles of pumped milk.
“Feeding isn’t a one-lane road,” she captioned the viral clip, which has now been viewed more than 1.1 million times. “The message is: never doubt a determined mother. Just let us feed our babies.”
Thousands of people flooded the comments with messages of support.

“That freezer stash is the stuff of legends. You’re a champion!” one person wrote.
“Beautiful job, mama. Celebrate every ounce and every moment,” said another.
“This is amazing,” another added. “It brought tears to my eyes because I know how much effort and love you poured into this.”
The Reality Behind the Routine
Nina, who also shares a two-year-old daughter, Elle, with her husband Nick, revealed that she had originally been pregnant with quadruplets, but sadly lost one of the babies.
In a follow-up TikTok, she described her grueling early schedule.
“I was pumping every two and a half hours for 25 to 30 minutes, then nursing each baby every three hours for about half an hour in between,” she said. “I’d get maybe a 15-minute break before it started all over again.”
“It was a full-time job. I was never not feeding a baby,” she admitted, adding that she was “eating and drinking around the clock” just to keep up.
Now, the family has begun supplementing with formula as the babies’ appetites grow.
“They’re taking about 16 ounces every two and a half to three hours, and I just can’t make that much anymore,” Nina said. “It was a lot of work in the beginning to get there.”
“Love Isn’t Measured by How You Feed Your Baby”
Despite the challenges, Nina remains proud of her efforts—and wants to remind other moms that there’s no one “right” way to feed a baby.
“I don’t think love is measured in how you feed your baby,” she said. “You’re a good mother no matter what you choose. This was just something I really wanted to do.”
Breastfeeding hasn’t always come easily for Nina, who has polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)—a condition that can make milk production difficult. When her supply dipped, she relied on the freezer stash she had built up over months of pumping.
“When I was pregnant, I couldn’t find many resources about breastfeeding triplets,” she shared. “I wanted to show other moms that it’s possible—and that it can be beautiful.”
