Jason Aldean is a big-time country music singer. But, what some people might not know is his wife, Brittany (Kerr) Aldean, can sing too.

Brittany, a former Charlotte Hornets (formerly known as the Bobcats) cheerleader and current social media influencer auditioned for Season 11’s American Idol with a cover of Joss Stone’s “Spoiled.” She made it through to the Hollywood round but ended up going home before getting the chance to sing in front of a live audience.

Despite not winning the sing-off competition, Brittany’s time on Idol has proven that she has the talent to share her voice with the world. And, since marrying Aldean, fans have been asking if the pair will ever join forces together for a duet.

Speaking with Audacy’s TC and Dina B at the “Stars & Strings” Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL, Aldean said a collaboration with his wife isn’t out of the question. But, for him, it all comes down to the song.

“Brit’s a great singer,” Aldean, who has duetted with artists like Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and Kelly Clarkson, said. “It’s one of those things, where, to me, it all comes down to the song. If you find the right song, I think that’s the key. It’s definitely something I’m not opposed to at all if the right thing came along and made sense. I would actually love to get her in the studio and cut some vocals. I don’t think she’s ever done that before, so that would be cool.”

And while Aldean is all for getting in some studio time with Brittany, he adds that he might have to do a little bit of nudging first.

“She’d be a little reluctant until she got in there,” he explains. “But, I think she’d be great.”

The country couple have previously been seen singing a duet during a family member’s birthday party in Nashville at The Graduates’ Cross-Eyed Critters animatronic karaoke bar, where they performed Blake Shelton’s “Lonely Tonight,” a duet that originally features Ashley Monroe of The Pistol Annies.

Aldean’s most recent album is an extensive double album called Macon, Georgia, which features 30 tracks. Now that he just wrapped his Rock ‘n’ Roll Cowboy Tour – named after a song on the Macon half of his record  – he’s already looking to the future and laying out plans for another collection.

“I feel like making records is a constant thing. We go out and we tour. And, as soon as we get a break on the tour, that’s our time to go in and start working on an album,” the “That’s What Tequila Does” hitmaker shared in a separate Audacy interview. “So for us, we just wrapped up the tour last weekend, and now I think we’re looking at probably January on going in to start working on the next record. So, It’s kind, of a never-ending process.”

“I get excited when I think we’ve found some great songs. I get excited to go in and start working on those,” he continued. “If we don’t have the songs, I’m not really itching that much to go in. But I feel like we got some really cool stuff right now that I’m excited to get in and record. We’re going to start that, I think, in January [2023].”
