It’s rare for a stylish actress and her (arguably) most stylish role to be as unanimously popular as each other. For Jennifer Aniston – renowned for her penchant for the ‘90s aesthetic and minimal basics – over the years it was tricky to tell where her iconic and popular Friends’ persona Rachel Green ends, and her own chic personal style begins.
I own an alarming number of blue jeans, blazers and white trainers. It sounds like a Fashions Anonymous confession, because it is of sorts. After I spotted images of Jennifer Aniston wearing the trio in an airport at some point in my late teens, I decided I was going to adopt it as My Look.
It was relaxed yet smart, self-assured yet trendy, classic yet fresh – and easy to recreate. Cue my collection of the three that would rival Levi’s, Joseph and Schuh’s stockrooms respectively. I’ve worn them to the office (fashion is fairly relaxed), to dinners (the blazer ticks the table top dressing box), and the balance of a polished jacket and casual (but always pristine) white trainers work harmoniously together. 
It’s probably Aniston’s go-to look for those reasons, too, and she’s long been the poster girl for such casual ‘90s-style ensembles. While Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy had the era’s minimal luxe vibe down pat, and Sarah Jessica Parker was nailing the quirky vintage look, girl next door chic was Aniston’s middle-ground territory.
