Madonna SUED by fans after New York concerts started TWO hours late – as pop icon is accused of ‘false advertising’ in lawsuit

Madonna is being sued by two fans for starting her New York concerts two hours late.

The pop icon, 65 – who was memorably three hours late for her December show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center last year – is accused of ‘false advertising’ in the lawsuit filed by concertgoers Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden against her and concert organizer Live Nation.

The lawsuit obtained by TMZ is aimed at all three nights Madonna showed up late to Barclays Center on December 13, 14 and 16 – with the plaintiffs stating that shows scheduled to start at 8:30 PM ET didn’t end up starting until 10:30 PM.

They claim the late starts constitute a ‘wanton exercise in false advertising, negligent misrepresentation, and unfair and deceptive trade practices.’

They also state Madonna has a long history of not starting her concerts on time.

The plaintiffs acknowledge Madonna had health issues which caused the original concert dates to be postponed from July to December – but do not see that as an excuse for the delays on the nights. The star was struck down by a lifethreatening bacterial infection last year.

The fans say they sent  $155.90 and $292.50 respectively on the tickets and are suing for unspecified damages.

DailyMail.com has contacted Madonna‘s representatives for comment.

The star was slammed by fans over the first show of the US leg of her tour last month – when she showed up at 11pm – despite a start time of around 8.30pm.

Despite the delay, she put on a very raunchy show and amazed her fans while performing her 45-song setlist highlighting her record-breaking 40-year career.

Later, it was explained that the delay was due to technical issues and had been pushed by only one hour as the opening act, DJ Honey Dijon, took the stage at 8:30 p.m.

The Queen of Pop eventually took the stage and began her show at 10:45 p.m.

However, many of the music icon’s fans took to social media to gripe about waiting for the Material Girl hitmaker to begin her show.

The lawsuit obtained by TMZ is aimed at all three nights Madonna showed up late to Barclays Center on December 13, 14 and 16 – with the plaintiffs stating that shows scheduled to start at 8:30 PM ET didn’t end up starting until 10:30 P (pictured performing on December 14)

One X user tweeted: ‘I don’t give a f*** if you’re Madonna, if you’re 3 hours late,  you’re just f***ing rude.’

‘Concert supposed to start at 8:30. Madonna started at 11pm. Whole arena chanting bulls*** at her lateness. Great show but went way too late,’ another person wrote, adding that DJ Honey Dijon opened the show with ‘boring house music’.

‘2:30 hours late. I WANT A REFUND NOW,’ another X user demanded.

‘I love Madonna but it’s really f***ed up how she’s literally like 2 hours late for her FIRST show in the us,’ another tweeted,

A source told People that Madonna powered through ‘issues during soundcheck that caused the schedule to get delayed by an hour’ for her 14,000 fans and concertgoers.

Even though doors still opened as scheduled at 7:30 p.m. for fans to enter the concert venue, the songstress was still ‘sound-checking until the moment they did to work out the issues’.

She then took the stage just one hour late, the insider emphasized.

In November 2019, a fan in Florida named Nate Hollander, sued Madonna after the singer changed her set times for her gig on December 17 in Miami Beach

The star was slammed by fans over the first show of the US leg of her tour last month – when she showed up at 11pm – despite a start time of around 8.30pm (pictured with Julia Garner on December 14)

He explained in court documents he had bought three tickets for a December gig back in August, which was scheduled to begin at 8.30pm.

However, after she later switched her start times to 10.30pm, he claimed that made the tickets much less valuable and he had been denied a refund on the $1,024.95 he had paid.

And in February 2020 the star was  the subject of a class-action lawsuit from Antonio Velotta and Andrew Panos, who claimed they waited hours past the advertised start time of her Madame X shows at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on September 21 and October 1 2019.
