Tom Sandoval offered an explanation for his ex Ariana Madix breaking the fourth wall on Tuesday’s Vanderpump Rules… after he tried to apologize.
Sandoval, 40, was joined by The Valley star/Vanderpump Rules alum Jax Taylor, 44 on Tuesday’s episode of Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live after their shows’ new episodes aired.
Towards the end of Vanderpump Rules, Sandoval tried to go up to Madix, 38, but she walked away and broke the fourth wall.
Madix immediately walked away and went over to producers, telling them, ”He doesn’t give a s*** if I f***ing died in a ditch or if I got a f***ing deadly STD the way he was f***ing around behind my back! That is non-informed consent! And he does not deserve to speak to me. He does not get access to me.’
During Tuesday’s Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked him to explain what he meant when he told a friend that her walking away ‘looks good’ for him, as Cohen explained, ‘it looks bad’ that he said that.

After Madix walked away, an angered Tom explained to friend Billie Lee that Ariana, ‘doesn’t like any of these motherf***ers,’ and calling her ‘performative,’ which she accused him of being.
Tom insisted, ‘That wasn’t what I meant. What I meant was I did my job and everything came together. That is what I meant you know, throughout the season we have to obviously have those conversations and I felt good that I at least showed up and did my job.’
Tom was essentially insinuating that Ariana’s refusal to talk to Tom on camera meant she wasn’t doing her job.
Ariana explained in confession that Tom has never tried to talk to her off-camera, adding, ‘he could have written something in a f***ing letter and left it on the kitchen counter, and I could have read it at my leisure. But if you would only do it on camera, to me, you just showed your true colors.’
While Ariana was mad that he wanted to apologize for the cameras, Lala Kent criticized Ariana for not sharing her life for the cameras in a confessional.
When asked how he felt about that, Tom said, ‘I was very moved by Lala’s confessional. I thought she was spot on.’
‘That is what we do. Arianna is the main cast member. She is not like a secondary member so that is what we have to do. We have to put it out there. We have to have those tough conversations,’ Tom explained.
When asked what he thought was the biggest mischaracterization of his whole affair with Rachel Leviss, Tom said, ‘That this was some sort of. I don’t know, I feel like people think this is some sort of big scheme or big elaborate put on. But it wasn’t, it was just obviously making bad decisions but also just getting lost in the motions and wanting to escape.’

When asked why he wanted to apologize to her in that moment and why he didn’t reach out earlier, he said Ariana’s characterization was not true.
‘I had actually made attempts to talk to her at home, despite what she says. I did text her, I did try to talk to her,’ Sandoval admitted.
When Tom was asked about Scheana Shay pointing out that he was, ‘weaponizing’ Ariana’s mental health, he insisted that he was not.
‘I was not weaponizing. I felt it was sort of a manipulation tactic of like, hey, if you do this I am going to do this to myself and that is why I brought it up because I felt like it was being used to leverage me, to push me into being or behaving a certain way,’ Tom said.
He also confirmed that the house ‘is being worked out’ and that he has had no contact with Rachel Leviss.
When asked if he thinks he has taken, ‘full accountability’ for the affair, Tom said, ‘I mean I have tried to.’
‘I try to learn from this, from what I have done I am still continuing to learn. It is not fully over. It is but I am saying like the process, the aftermath. We are still dealing with things and I’m trying to handle it the best I can,’ he said.
