MCU fans at odds with Marvel for casting Taylor Swift instead of Blake Lively for coveted rol

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, the beloved Hollywood couple, have long captured the hearts of fans with their undeniable chemistry and charming relationship. Despite their popularity, the duo has not shared the screen since their appearance in the film “Green Lantern” in 2011.

Fans have eagerly awaited their on-screen reunion, particularly in the context of Reynolds’ Deadpool franchise. Speculation was rife that Lively might join the upcoming “Deadpool & Wolverine” film as Lady Deadpool, a character akin to Reynolds’ Deadpool but from an alternate universe.

However, recent rumors have dashed these hopes, suggesting that Lively will not be portraying the character. This news has left fans disheartened, as they had hoped to see the couple together in prominent roles.

Fans did not react well to the rumor

The disappointment was further compounded when rumors surfaced that Taylor Swift, the global superstar, might be cast as Lady Deadpool instead. Swift, who has been linked to a possible role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), gained traction for the part after Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld posted a photo of her dressed as the character.

Fans took to social media to express their disappointment, lamenting the missed opportunity for Lively and Reynolds to share the screen once again. Many had envisioned Lively as the perfect choice for Lady Deadpool, given her acting prowess and on-screen chemistry with Reynolds.

“It’s going to be Taylor Swift isn’t it…” one X, formerly Twitter, user foreshadowed, while someone else said, “Lady dp better not be swift I swear,”“What a wasted opportunity,” lamented one more user, echoing the sentiment. One more stated, “It’s either someone different or Taylor Swift is playing her instead of Dazzler.”

Despite negative reactions from fans and the fact that the source is a well-known Marvel insider, it’s essential to remember that nothing has been confirmed yet.

“Deadpool & Wolverine” is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2024, and only time will tell what the film has in store for fans. In the meantime, fans continue to hold out hope for a future project that will reunite Lively and Reynolds in a meaningful way on the big screen.
