Dan Reynolds, the frontman of Imagine Dragons, and Minka Kelly became acquainted through their individual works of art before meeting in person.

“She says, ‘Well, if you’re going to share your work, I’ll share something with you, but it’s really sensitive for me. “Do you want to do this or not?” the 36-year-old “Radioactive” singer remembered to People on Tuesday.

Reynolds was introduced to Kelly, 44, by a mutual acquaintance in 2022, straight off his divorce from ex-wife Aja Volkman. The actress was currently working in the United Kingdom.

Dan Reynolds revealed the “strange” way he and now-girlfriend Minka Kelly got to know each other.

The actress was working abroad in the UK when they were first introduced.

Since they were long distance at first, Kelly offered to tell Reynolds about herself by sharing a copy of her memoir, “Tell Me Everything,” which chronicled her childhood trauma, homelessness and abortion.

“She was very scared for me to read the book because we hadn’t met, just as much as I was scared for her to hear a song that I’d written,” the “Demons” singer said.

“But we shared it and then it ended up being a really beautiful thing and brought us a lot closer. I think it helped us both kind of understand each other on a deeper level quite quickly.”

Kelly shared with Reynolds a copy of her memoir, “Tell Me Everything,” to tell him about herself.

“It ended up being a really beautiful thing and brought us a lot closer,” Reynolds said.

Reynolds now thinks of his and Kelly’s decision to be very vulnerable early on in their relationship as a “really strange” but “awesome way” to meet someone.

“I was hearing all her life stories from youth to now, and she had a really hard, colorful, beautiful life,” the “Whatever It Take” rocker said.

“Getting to read it all before you even meet somebody… I’ve never had that kind of introduction to someone.”

Reynolds met Kelly when he was fresh out of his split from Aja Volkman, whom he was married to for 11 years.

Kelly, for her part, was in a high-profile relationship with Trevor Noah months before dating Reynolds.

Reynolds and Kelly are still together nearly two years later. They are frequently seen out together on PDA-filled outings in Los Angeles, where they both live.

Prior to her relationship with Reynolds, the “Roommate” star was romantically involved with comedian Trevor Noah, but they split up in May 2022.

Kelly has never crossed the aisle. Reynolds, for his part, was married to Volkman, 44, for 11 years, and they had four children together: girls Arrow, 11, Gia, and Coco, 7, and boy Valentine, 4.
