The singer previously revealed she had to undergo regenerative treatment after suffering extreme pain due to knee surgery.

Madonna decided to finally undergo knee surgery in April 2020 followed by hip surgery in November 2020 as well as ‘regenerative treatment for my missing cartilage.’

It has been a tough time for Madonna after a shocking health scare in June 2023.

Madonna previously had to scale back the seven-month tour after she was hospitalized and intubated over a bacterial infection last June.

The Madame X artist later revealed that she was in an induced coma for 48 hours after suffering lung and kidney failure.

During her first Celebration Tour stop in London, Madonna admitted onstage that she ‘didn’t think I’d make it’ during the stint, during which she ‘forgot five days’ of her life.

I didn’t think I would make it, and neither did my doctors,’ she said. ‘That’s why I woke up with all of my children sitting around me.’

‘I forgot five days of my life, or my death, I don’t really know where I was. But the angels were protecting me,’ she continued. ‘And my children were there. And my children always save me, every time.’

The last show was notably ‘free of charge as a thank you to her fans for celebrating more than four decades of her music over the course of the epic global run of the tour’

Performing her most beloved hits from her decades-spanning career, Madonna kicked off the tour on October 14 in London

Marking her first show in Brazil since 2012, Madonna also made her return with Bob the Drag Queen, who has accompanied her throughout the Celebration Tour

The hitmaker labelled the historic, final tour stop as ‘her biggest show yet,’ according to the official website

Madonna added, ‘If you want to know how I pulled through and how I survived, I thought, I have got to be there for my children. I have to survive for them.’

And during her tour stop in Los Angeles earlier this year in March, the singer further reflected on the ‘near-death’ health scare.

‘This show every night is not really so hard on me physically. It’s hard on me emotionally because I’m really telling you the story of my life,’ she expressed to the live audience in the Kia Forum, per Just Jared.

‘My heart is on my sleeve. I’ve fallen off a lot of horses and broken a lot of bones… but nothing can stop me.’

She also claimed that the first word she said upon awaking from her coma was simply, ‘No!’

‘I’m pretty sure that was God saying to me, “Do you want to come? Want to come up with me?”‘ and she replied with, ‘No!’

She also credited her children to aiding her in her recovery. She is notably mother to Lourdes Leon, 27, Rocco Ritchie, 23, David Banda and Mercy James, 18, and also twins Stella and Estere, 11.

‘My children are what really helped me pull through because they worked so hard. I didn’t want to let them down, so I just set a date. And that date became reality.’

Madonna’s four youngest children have also joined her on stage amidst the Celebration Tour.

The hitmaker labelled the historic, final tour stop as ‘her biggest show yet,’ according to the official website.

During the concert, the Frozen hitmaker also opted for a fitted, semi-sheer corset top that was made of a black, lace material.

She additionally donned a colourful, plaid miniskirt as well as a pair of black, fishnet tights and heeled ankle boots.

The Queen of Pop – whose full name is Madonna Louise Ciccone – layered the look with a black-patterned jacket that was left unfastened at the front to better show off the outfit.

During a portion of the set, Madonna was joined by her backup dancers who also donned stylish ensembles.

At one point, Madonna was  seen with Brazilian singer, Pabllo Vittar, and the two held Brazilian flags in their hands during the performance.

Before the Take A Bow singer took to the stage, Diplo was performed an opening set in front of the large crowd.

The audience could be seen gathered outdoors shortly after the sun had set ahead of the festivities.

Hosted at Belmond Copacabana Palace Hotel, the concert was broadcasted live on TV Globo. Attendees didn’t need tickets, and admission happened on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Marking her first show in Brazil since 2012, Madonna also made her return with Bob the Drag Queen, who has accompanied her throughout the Celebration Tour.

Performing her most beloved hits from her decades-spanning career, Madonna kicked off the tour on October 14 in London.

While talking to W Magazine last month in April, the singer opened up about sharing the experience with her kids. ‘When I go on tour, nothing brings me more happiness than to know we are all working on the same show, creating the magic together.’

‘It would be boring if they were just traveling from hotel to hotel, and occasionally coming to watch the show.’

‘Of course, I am their mother so sometimes we get on each other’s nerves. We are a family of artists but we are also a family, and that’s what happens,’ the Frozen songstress added.

Health scares aside, Madonna has also been met with lawsuits from fans during the Celebration Tour, after her NYC shows started two hours late.

The star’s legal team and Live Nation responded to the lawsuit in TMZ. ‘Madonna just completed and sold out her 2023 Celebration Tour in Europe – which received rave reviews,’ they said.

‘The shows opened in North America at Barclays in Brooklyn as planned, with the exception of a technical issue December 13th during soundcheck.’

‘This caused a delay that was well documented in press reports at the time. We intend to defend this case vigorously,’ they added.
