Kate Hudson has opened up about dating Nick Jonas when she was 36 and he was 23 in a candid new interview.

The Almost Famous actress, now 45, and the singer, 31, were hit by romance speculation back in 2015 when they were pictured spending the day at Disney World and partying in New York City – but never confirmed they were dating.

On Wednesday’s Watch What Happens Live Hudson – during the Plead The Fifth segment was asked by Cohen: ‘In 2015, 2016, there were countless rumors about you dating Nick Jonas, which you skirted around, including on this very show.”

‘Looking back on it now, how would you characterize that relationship?’

She responded: ‘A moment? A moment. Lovely, fun, kind… he’s like an old man in a young man’s body, and we love him.’

Jonas has previously said he has ‘so much admiration and respect’ for Hudson during a 2016 interview with Complex.

He said: ‘Kate’s incredible. We had an unbelievable connection as two humans who just admire things about each other, and see something in each other that’s beautiful.’

Hudson also revealed when she was single – many stars has slid into her DMs

She said: ‘Look, it’s a great way to meet people, and a great thing to make your ego feel wonderful. Like, ‘Oh, that one snuck in.’ But I had a ton [of DMs]. … I like to flirt, which is why I had to go through a year without flirting. Yeah, now it’s done.’

Jonas has been married to actress Priyanka Chopra, 42, since 2018 and the couple are parents to daughter Malti Marie, two.

In May Hudson opened up about taking a year off of dating after her therapist advised her to ‘take a break from men.’

Appearing on the Call Her Daddy podcast on Wednesday, the star said, ‘I couldn’t flirt – none of it.’

She continued, ‘I was at that place where I was like, “I don’t want to keep repeating patterns anymore.”‘

As part of her dry spell, Hudson admitted that she couldn’t even give potential suitors her phone number.

‘But it was strangely empowering,’ she explained.

Her exes have included Chris Robinson, Owen Wilson, Alex Rodriguez, Lance Armstrong and Matt Bellamy, among others.

Despite feeling ‘uncomfortable’ during the first few months of her dating ban, Hudson said she had a ‘breakthrough’ and that the break ‘allowed me to see things much more clearly.’

The Almost Famous actress went on to find love with musician Danny Fujikawa in 2016 and the pair got engaged in 2021.

She recently got candid about her ‘patchwork family’ and how she manages having three children with three different men.

‘We are very connected, and we are very close,’ the Something Borrowed star told People.

‘Love can change form. It’s interesting when you have that modern family; there’s so much love for all the kids.

‘I think the thing that’s so unique about my life is that in this very patchwork family, we all have figured it out…The kids feel like they have this huge family,’ she added.
