‘Woman’s World’ Falls Flat: Katy Perry’s Comeback Single Bombs on Billboard After Crisis Talks!

Katy Perry’s comeback single, Woman’s World, debuted low on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The song about female empowerment failed to reach the Top 10 and peaked at number 63 in its first full tracking week.

The pop hit, off the 39-year-old singer’s upcoming seventh studio album 143, debuted at No. 65 on the Global 200 and No. 47 on the UK charts, according to Variety.

Katy Perry’s (39) comeback single, Woman’s World, had a mediocre opening on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart; Perry was pictured in Paris, France in June.

Streaming, it reached No. 110 on Spotify’s US chart and No. 58 on the global chart.

Katy Perry is reportedly ‘freaking out’ and demanding that her team go ‘back to the drawing board’ to save her album from the same fate as the single, which has fallen down the US iTunes chart since its debut on July 11.

In comparison, her last solo single, Daisies, from her 2020 album Smile, reached at No. 40 on the Billboard chart before falling off quickly.

Katy Perry, who recently filmed a raunchy music video with hunky shirtless model and stuntman Oscar Dorta, is ‘pointing the fingers at everyone but herself’ after the flop single, according to insiders. They claim she is desperately scrambling to devise a new plan to save her musical comeback.

The lead tune from her next album, marketed as an inspiring feminist hymn, was swiftly slammed as unimaginative, hypocritical, and predictable.

The Teenage Dream hitmaker received criticism for the 𝓈ℯ𝓍ualized video and her decision to collaborate with music producer Dr. Luke, 50, following his court struggle with Tik Tok artist Kesha, 37.

‘Katy is freaking out right now because she is well aware of the criticism that Woman’s World is receiving,’ a source exclusively told DailyMail.com. ‘She blames everyone but herself, but it’s her responsibility.’

According to the insider, the biggest risk Katy had taken was reconciling with Dr. Luke, the music producer who worked on her blockbuster singles I Kissed a Girl (2008) and California Gurls (2010) before being accused of 𝓈ℯ𝓍ual, physical, and emotional assault by Kesha.

Łukasz Gottwald, the super producer, rejected all charges, including Kesha’s claim that he raped Katy, which she dismissed.

A New York state judge ruled against Kesha in 2020, claiming she defamed her former producer with the accusation, and an appeals court confirmed the verdict in 2021.

The song about female empowerment failed to break the Top 10 and finished at number 63 in its first complete tracking week. The artist is depicted in a still from the Woman’s World music video.

The pop anthem — from her forthcoming seventh studio album 143 — also debuted at No. 65 on the Global 200 and at No. 47 on the UK charts, as per Variety

With the song also dropping down the US iTunes chart since its July 11 release, Katy is claimed to be ‘freaking out’ and demanding that her team go ‘back to the drawing board’ to save her album from facing the same fate.

Despite the fact that the duo reached an agreement in 2023, music fans have expressed their displeasure with any musician that chooses to collaborate with the hitmaker in the aftermath of Kesha’s allegations.

Some Katy supporters have backed the diva, stating that she was obliged to collaborate with Dr. Luke owing to contractual requirements. Katy has previously stated that she has no ties to the producer.

During her 2018 deposition for Kesha’s lawsuit against Dr. Luke, Katy revealed that she had only ever signed a three-album publishing deal with Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records and that the two were no longer contractually linked.

She also realized how the public would react if she opted to collaborate with Dr. Luke during his battle with Kesha.

‘Working with him at this time would imply – would not be – would not be well received because of this litigation,’ she said.

When asked if she felt collaborating with Dr. Luke would have an impact on the success of a future record, the Dark Horse singer responded: ‘[People would] protest against it, a smear campaign, basically 20 different narratives than the one that I am.’

Perry faced criticism for the 𝓈ℯ𝓍ualized nature of the single’s music video, as well as her decision to work with producer Dr. Luke, 50, in the wake of his lawsuit with Kesha; they are seen in 2014

143 — which is the upcoming album’s title — is a code for ‘I love you’, often used in messages sent on pagers during the 1990s. The album will be released on September 20

Perry posted what appeared to be a cover image for the album earlier on Tuesday.

Katy not only collaborated with the producer on the single, but she also wrote it primarily with guys.

Dr. Luke, Aaron Joseph, Vaughn Oliver, and Rocco did it again! They all co-wrote and produced the song, with Katy and Chloe Angelides being the only female writers.

The singer will release her first album since 2020’s Smile, which did not achieve the same popularity as her previous records. She will be seen at the 2022 Annual CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee.

According to the insider, Katy is now requesting that they start again before releasing more songs, and they are already modifying the album in a frantic attempt to save her comeback. She should be thankful that they have three months to do this.

Katy looks to be planning to hand over control to her fans after announcing on Stationhead on July 14 that she will be conducting a poll for her followers to help choose her next single.

The title, 143, is a code for ‘I love you’ that was commonly used in pager messages in the 1990s. It will be released on September 20th.

It will be the star’s first album since 2020’s Smile, which failed to match the success of her previous releases.

Katy declared that she was entering a ‘new era’ when she announced her new album, known informally as KP6.
