We thought the It Ends With Us drama had died down! But somebody didn’t get the memo!
The rivalry between Blake Lively and co-star/director Justin Baldoni raged throughout the summer, with some sources claiming Justin was a dictator on set, being disrespectful, đâŻđist, and “borderline abusive” â matching his character in the film! Others, however, claimed it was all about Blake and Ryan Reynolds utilizing their celebrity to influence the director and make creative decisions that benefited her. Multiple leaked interviews depicting Blake as a Hollywood cruel girl have undoubtedly supported the latter myth!
But, hey, brat summer has ended, right? Is it time for Joaquin Phoenix’s “I’m too scared to play gay” fall?
Well, it is not over yet.On Thursday, Access Hollywood interviewed Brandon Sklenar, Blake’s onscreen love interest, during the Ralph Lauren presentation in New York City. They just had to ask about the drama. If he wanted everything to die down, he certainly shouldn’t have answered â but he hasn’t been a movie star for very long! Instead, he stated this about the coverage of Blake and Justin’s drama:
âIt just seems silly to me. Itâs kinda defeating the whole purpose of the thing to spread any negativity. Itâs an important film for so many women and for so many survivors of domestic abuse. Thatâs what itâs all about, is making people feel heard and strong and loved. So to project anything but that seems counterintuitive.â
Hmm. He’s implying that the coverage is the problem. But, it wasn’t unexpected, right? He was definitely among the cast who ignored Justin at the premiere and throughout the film’s advertising materials. That’s where fans first realized anything was wrong in the flower shop.
If projecting bad blood is such a poor notion, perhaps you should avoid partaking in it? We mean, he didn’t have to openly choose a side like he did when hanging out with Blake and filming videos with Ryan.
Of course, Brandon has previously discussed the drama. He was the first to openly discuss internet comments, delivering a statement last month thanking “the women of this cast.” Even his comments appeared to specifically omit Justin. He asks for peace, but it seems like he’s just asking everyone to stop talking nasty things about Blake.
Asked about that statement, Brandon said:
âI put that out and I was like, âSee how this goes.â I appreciate those people that appreciated it.â
Well⌠itâs something at least.
