Tensions emerge over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix polo documentary with bosses unhappy about the Duke’s absence from five-part series

When Netflix signed an £80 million deal with Prince Harry, executives likely anticipated a wealth of exclusive personal footage. However, his upcoming five-part documentary series on polo barely features the Duke himself, instead spotlighting his friend Nacho Figueras, a relatively unknown Argentinian player.

Sources reveal that Netflix executives are disappointed with the final edit, which emphasizes Figueras over Harry, leaving them wanting “more bang for their buck.” Produced by Harry and Meghan’s company, Archewell, the series, titled Polo, is set to premiere in December but has reportedly been dubbed “the Nacho Show” behind the scenes.

Critics are voicing disappointment over Netflix’s upcoming polo documentary series featuring Prince Harry, as it appears to center more on his friend Nacho Figueras than on the Duke himself. Despite the high expectations surrounding Harry’s £80 million deal, insiders claim that the series lacks the star power viewers anticipated.

“Apart from their documentary series about quitting the Royal Family, everything else they’ve produced has been underwhelming,” one source remarked. “Any reasonable person would expect Harry to take a starring role in a show about polo, but his absence is hugely disappointing for Netflix. Polo isn’t exactly mainstream, so the appeal would have been watching Harry.”

With the Netflix deal set to expire next year, the Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍es are in need of a significant hit, but sources describe the project as a “big nothing burger.” Another insider added, “For a show about a sport of Kings, polo barely features any royalty. It’s not the Harry show; it’s the Nacho show.”

Figueras, dubbed “the David Beckham of polo,” may not have the mainstream appeal needed to draw in viewers, as one source noted, “Nice of Harry to do his mate a favor, but Nacho speaks broken English and is just not mainstream enough to pull in the ratings.”
