“That isn’t multiplication, you divide” – Cam’ron rips Angel Reese’s calculations after she claimed WNBA salary isn’t enough to cover $8,000 rent

While Angel Reese and several WNBA stars are poised to play in Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier’s Unrivaled 3×3 league starting in January, there’s a possibility the WNBA is headed for a lockout after the WNBPA opted out of their current CBA, with only a year remaining before the axe falls.

The WNBPA’s decision to opt out of the CBA, which still has one year remaining on the deal, comes amid calls for players to be paid appropriately. As Reese explained in a video earlier in the week, her $73,000 WNBA salary doesn’t even cover her bills.

Of course, Reese, who joked that she’s living beyond her means by living in an $8,000 per-month apartment, has plenty of endorsement deals as well. During this week’s episode of “It Is What It Is,” rapper Cameron poked fun at Reese’s math.

“I love you, Angel. I’m just telling you, watching the video, and I know you probably having fun, but she’s like, ‘Yo, the WNBA can’t even pay one of my bills. It doesn’t cover my rent.’ … Let’s do the math. So she says, 74 times 8000. I’m like, that isn’t multiplication. You divide. If you’re trying to figure that number out,” the rapper said.

Angel Reese opens up about the all-new Unrivaled 3×3 basketball league starting in January

After suffering a wrist injury late in the season that forced her to the sidelines and contributed to the Chicago Sky missing the playoffs, Angel Reese has continued to rehab her way back to 100%.

While many WNBA players head overseas to compete during the offseason, Reese has committed to playing in Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier’s unrivaled 3×3 basketball league.

The league has announced 26 of 30 potential players, with rumors indicating that they are planning a “Messi-like” offer for Caitlin Clark. Ahead of the inaugural season, Angel Reese spoke about Unrivaled, expressing her excitement:

“Being able to be in Miami from January to March, not having to go overseas. Nobody wants to go overseas.”A lot of us never wanna have to go overseas, but some people do have to go overseas unfortunately, so being able to make six figures within three months, being able to be housed in Miami, just being able to get better. … I think it’s amazing … I’m excited for it.”

With plenty of time before things tip off in Miami, all eyes will be on the league in anticipation of further player announcements.
