Don’t try this at home, kids.
In an Instagram story on Monday, Blake Lively revealed a beauty hack she once tried in high school involving chili peppers.
Last night, the “Gossip Girl” alum shared behind-the-scene pics at the CFDA Awards 2024 on her Instagram story, first posting a close-up of her glam beauty look and praising her makeup artist, Carolina Gonzalez, for a pout-boosting trick.
“When @cgonzalezbeauty does the Gen Z eye shadow lip trick to make your lips look huge…” Lively said, referring to a viral beauty trend which entails adding shadow around your lips in lieu of liner. At the bottom right corner of the pic, the actress wrote, “But then… “
In the following image, Lively is seen makeup-free, confessing to her own DIY experiment as a teenager.
“You wash off your makeup & accept that you are a millennial girl who, in high school used to wear lip gloss with alarming amounts of chili peppers inside for a plump because we were THAT committed to bad ideas,” she admitted.
“Turns out eyeshadows are way less painful than Carolina Reapers,” Lively continued. “Thank you @cgonzalezbeauty for not turning my mouth into an episode of Hot Ones,” she added, referring to the talk show where celebrities are interviewed as they eat extremely hot wings.
On Instagram, the makeup artist shared the full breakdown of Lively’s makeup, including the lip product she used to achieve the plump pout.
Enter: Armani Beauty’s Lip Power Long-Lasting Satin Lipstick ($38) in the shade 106 with the same product in the matte shade 207 ($45) to “softly contour” the shape.
Lively paired her full (and non-painful) lips with loose blond curls, courtesy of celebrity hairstylist Jennifer Yepez.
At the sought-after fashion affair, which took place at New York City’s American Museum of Natural History, the Blake Brown founder wore an all-white Michael Kors look.
Her sleek outfit consisted of a tailored blazer (which rested on her shoulders) and a ribbed bodysuit tucked into a sequined maxi skirt with a high slit.
Lively finished the ensemble with Lorraine Schwartz diamond jewels and Christian Louboutin heels.
No chili peppers in sight.
