Previously, late Kim Sae Ron’s family appeared on the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute and claimed that Kim Sae Ron had been in a relationship with Kim Soo Hyun for six years, starting when she was a minor. They also criticized her agency for mishandling her DUI incident. During the broadcast, Garosero Research Institute revealed a photo allegedly showing Kim Soo Hyun at Kim Sae Ron’s home wearing only a T-shirt and underwear while doing the dishes. Although Kim Soo Hyun’s side initially denied the accusations, calling them false, on March 14 his agency changed their stance and released a new statement: “Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron were in a relationship from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020, after Kim Sae Ron had reached adulthood. The claim that Kim Soo Hyun dated her when she was a minor is not true.” Despite this clarification, the controversy continues to intensify. In response, Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team has filed criminal complaints against Garosero Research Institute and members of late Kim Sae Ron’s family, citing violations of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, including charges related to illegal filming and distribution.
