Cardi B is having a difficult week after her new beau Stefon Diggs was caught flirting with bikini-clad women and now, her ex Offset has made a shock decision in their divorce proceedings, DailyMail.com has exclusively learned.
The 32-year-old rapper filed for divorce from her husband of nearly seven years in August 2024, under grounds of ‘irreconcilable differences between the parties,’ according to the complaint.
Cardi B is requesting that their marriage be dissolved, per the complaint, since ‘there is not reasonable prospect of reconciliation.’
Offset, 33, initially filed his ‘answer and counterclaim’ to the Up hitmaker’s divorce petition in February of this year, but DailyMail.com can reveal that he has now filed an amended response.
The May 23th filing has been updated with a new request… he is now requesting she pay him spousal support.

DailyMail.com has exclusively learned that Offset filed a new document in his divorce with Cardi B on May 23 in which he is seeking spousal support
Cardi B filed for divorce against Offset in August 2024 citing ‘irreconcilable differences’
‘Defendant/Counterclaimant demands judgment requiring Plaintiff to pay to the Defendant spousal maintenance,’ the court document reads – with the defendant referring to Offset and the Plaintiff referring to Cardi B.
A specific amount has not been noted, but will eventually be determined by the judge once divorce proceedings carry out in the coming months.
DailyMail.com has reached out to Cardi B’s attorney for comment.
The WAP rapper did not previously request spousal support in her divorce filing from August.
Cardi B’s current reported net worth is $101 million – making her the second richest female rapper of all time – while Offset’s reported net worth is $32 million.
Offset initially filed his answer and counterclaim on February 25, before amending it this month. All other requests, except for spousal support, are the same, including his request that the court determine each parent’s child support obligations, distribution of their marital property and other personal property.
He’s also requesting each party be responsible for his or her counsel fees.
In addition, he’s asking for joint legal custody of their three children, with Cardi B being the primary resident for the kids and him being the alternate resident, with a parenting schedule that considers the best interest of the children.
