“I don’t want my family in the business, it’s a lot to deal with”: After Earning $450 Million, Kevin Hart is Still Skeptical About Letting His Daughter Enter Hollywood

Kevin Hart might have started his career as a stand-up guy, but he’s come a long way, becoming one of Hollywood’s most popular actors and comedians. With 2002’s Paper Soldiers marking his acting debut, Hart, 43, has been a part of the film industry for over two decades now. He has starred in a plethora of popular films and worked with some of the industry’s A-listers including Nicole Kidman, Will Ferrell, Woody Harrelson, and of course, his on and off-screen best friend, Dwayne Johnson.

It’s safe to say that the Central Intelligence actor has had a prolific career in Hollywood so far, his colossal net worth of $450 million standing as a testament to the same. But despite all the fame and success bedazzled with his name, Hart still believes that he’d be better off without bringing his children “in the business,” at least not until they’re fully capable of handling all the baggage that is bound to follow with it.

Kevin Hart on Opening His Kids to the Gates of Hollywood

Kevin Hart has had a flourishing career in the acting business, so it wouldn’t be entirely shocking if his kids reaped the benefits of their father’s success and enjoyed the perks that came with carrying the Hart name. But turns out, the Ride Along actor wouldn’t want that to happen anytime soon.

In a recent episode of GQ’s Actually Me, Hart was asked if he would ever do a film with his family, to which The Upside star’s response was a simple and curt, “No.” Elucidating upon the same, he said that the major reason why he wouldn’t want that was that the film industry was quite a handful to deal with. “No, I don’t want my family in the business,” he admitted.

However, Hart also remarked that he could see his daughter dip her toes in “the business” somewhere in the future, given her area of interest and how talented she is. But he would only want to open his children up to Hollywood when the right time comes.

Kevin Hart Doesn’t Think His Kids Are Ready to Enter the Film Industry Just Yet

The Jumanji 3 star shares his older children with his ex-wife Torrei Hart and his youngest kids, 5-year-old Kenzo, and a 2-year-old daughter, Kaori, with his current wife Eniko Hart.

Given his eldest daughter’s penchant for “development” and “creativity,” Kevin Hart is awfully sure that Heaven, 18, is going to become a part of the industry sooner or later. And while he’s not too sure about 15-year-old Hendrix joining the show business, the comedian isn’t too thrilled about seeing his kids off to Hollywood’s threshold, to begin with.

“I think my daughter’s going to be in the business. My son, maybe. My daughter, definitely. My daughter loves development, creativity. I see producing in her future. I see acting, like she can do kinda what she wants. She’s talented, so we’ll see. But the business is a lot.”

Until and unless his children are mature enough to “handle” it all, Hart doesn’t want his kids to be a part of the film industry.

“I don’t want my kids in it until they’re in a place to handle it, deal with the highs and lows.”
