Did your favorite Jason Aldean tracks make the cut?

Since bursting onto the country music scene in 2005, Jason Aldean has gone on to become one of country music’s most celebrated artists. Aldean is a three-time ACM Entertainer of the Year whose career boasts an impressive 15 billion streams and more than 18 million albums sold. The ACM Artist of the Decade has 23 No.1 singles to his name and is showing no signs of slowing down following the release of his ninth studio album, 9, in the fall of 2019.

Here, we take a look back at Jason Aldean’s catalog to rank his 10 best songs.

10. “The Only Way I Know” featuring Luke Bryan and Eric Church

Written by David Lee Murphy and Ben Hayslip from Night Train (2012)

Aldean recruited his friends and fellow country stars, Luke Bryan and Eric Church, to join him on this country/rock track. The song became an anthem for the working class and made its way all the way to No.1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. The trio of superstars debuted the song on the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards and received a standing ovation.

9. “Any Ol’ Barstool”

Written by Deric Ruttan and Josh Thompson from They Don’t Know (2016)

Filled with heartache, “Any Ol’ Barstool” is a song about life after a breakup. The song finds the narrator trying to convince his ex that he’s doing just fine without her when the reality is, he’s not okay. The lyrics and production elements are a bit more traditional than other songs in Aldean’s catalog, which is why this is a standout track.

8. “Big Green Tractor”

Written by Jim Collins and David Lee Murphy from Wide Open (2009)

“Big Green Tractor” was one of Aldean’s first massive commercial hits. It took country radio by storm, becoming a four-week No.1 and went on to sell more than three million downloads. Fun fact: The song was co-written by Jim Collins, who also wrote Kenny Chesney’s “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.”

7. “Tattoos on This Town”

Written by Michael Dulaney, Wendell Mobley and Neil Thrasher from My Kinda Party (2010)

Loaded with nostalgia, “Tattoos on This Town” reflects on growing up in a small town and the impact the town has on shaping a young person’s life. This relatable track remains a fan favorite to this day.

6. “The Truth”

Written by Brett James and Ashley Monroe from Wide Open (2009)

Aldean’s fourth No.1 single, “The Truth,” is full of agony. Throughout the song, the narrator begs his ex-lover not to reveal the truth about what he’s been doing since their split. At the end of the song, it’s revealed that “The Truth” is that he still loves her. Vocally and lyrically, this is one of Aldean’s finest moments.

5. “She’s Country”

Written by Danny Myrick and Bridgette Tatum from Wide Open (2009)

“She’s Country” helped Aldean further establish his signature country/rock sound. The track, which celebrates country girls from various rural locations, not only became the Georgia native’s second chart-topper, it truly took his career to the next level.

4. “Don’t You Wanna Stay” Featuring Kelly Clarkson

Written by Andy Gibson, Paul Jenkins and Jason Sellers from My Kinda Party (2010)

A true power ballad, “Don’t You Wanna Stay” perfectly blurred the lines between country and pop. With guest vocals from the one and only Kelly Clarkson, the track was released as a single following the pair’s show-stopping performance at the 44th Annual CMA Awards. Aldean and Clarkson received a significant amount of critical appraise for the song, which earned a Grammy nomination and became a three-week No.1.

3. “Dirt Road Anthem”

Written by Brantley Gilbert and Colt Ford from My Kinda Party (2010)

Aldean really shook things up with the release of “Dirt Road Anthem.” Its country rap sound turned heads and stood out among the other songs at country radio at the time. Though it received mixed reviews from critics, it but ended up being a huge success for Aldean. “Dirt Road Anthem” topped the country radio charts, earned a Grammy nomination and has been certified four-times platinum for sales in excess of four million. Aldean took a chance with this one but it more than paid off.

2. “My Kinda Party”

Written by Brantley Gilbert from My Kinda Party (2010)

Like “She’s Country,” “My Kinda Party” epitomizes Aldean’s brand of country music. A staple in his live show, the rambunctious tune is a true party anthem, celebrating a backwoods party filled with booze, bonfires and tailgates. It remains one of Aldean’s best-selling songs.

1. “Drowns the Whiskey” Featuring Miranda Lambert

Written by Brandon Kinney, Jeff Middleton and Josh Thompson from Rearview Town (2018)

More than a decade after their first collaboration (2007’s “Grown Woman”), Aldean joined forces with Miranda Lambert once again on “Drowns the Whiskey.” Throughout the song, the narrator sings about turning to whiskey to help drown the memories of his ex-lover but admits the memories of her drown the whiskey.  Their voices blended seamlessly, making this an unforgettable collaboration. The song shot to the top of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and earned a nomination for Musical Event of the Year at the 2018 CMA Awards.
