In 2022, Gorilla’s hit song “FNF Let’s Go” could have reached even greater heights, according to record producer Hick Kid. The Memphis talent disclosed that both Cardi B and Nicki Minaj expressed interest in joining the remix of the track. On Sunday, December 3rd, Hick Kid took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share this information.
“Nikki Minaj contacted me for the FNF remix, but I remained committed to my original choices because I had given my word,” he wrote. In another tweet, he revealed Cardi B’s similar interest in collaborating, expressing his desire to assemble the most prominent female artists on one song. However, he ultimately decided against altering his initial plans, prioritizing integrity and business principles.
Despite the absence of Cardi B and Nicki Minaj on the remix, Gorilla still attracted significant names to join the movement. L and the City Girls featured on the track when it was released in September 2022.
Speculation arose regarding a potential rift between Gorilla and the City Girls due to the latter’s exclusion from the remix. However, Hick Kid dismissed any such notions, thanking the City Girls for their support on social media.
While discussing the possibility of a second remix featuring a West Coast artist, Hick Kid mentioned clearing up any misunderstandings with the City Girls. He expressed gratitude for their support and hinted at releasing the remix for the fans’ enjoyment.
Hick Kid also reminisced about collaborating with Young Miami on the song “Care Shop” the previous year. He expressed his admiration for emerging talent and highlighted the enjoyable experience of working with Gorilla.
Overall, while the remix didn’t materialize with Cardi B and Nicki Minaj, Gorilla’s “FNF Let’s Go” still made waves in the music scene, showcasing the talent and vision of Hick Kid and the artists involved.
