In the fall of 2004, Usher and Alicia Keys dominated the charts with their now-iconic song “My Boo.” Now, nearly two decades later, the Grammy winners are reuniting for something special.

On the heels of the tune’s anniversary, Usher, who recently announced the final dates of his acclaimed Las Vegas residency, teased the possibility that a remake of “My Boo” — which skyrocketed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on October 30, 2004, was on the way really soon.

It all started when a fan asked, “Can we get a sequel to this like already?” Keys replied with several looking-eye emojis while tagging both Usher and Jermaine Dupri, who produced the track. Usher then responded with “What we doin’?”

Based on those tweets alone it’s safe to say that something is definitely cooking between the two stars.

Naturally, the romantic song, which is a sweet ode to young love, sparked dating rumors between Usher and Keys, who were 26 and 23, respectively.

“I don’t know about y’all, but I know about us and, uh / It’s the only way we know how to rock,” they sing on the song’s catchy bridge.

“The song is talking about the first person you ever really had feelings for,” Keys said in an interview with MTV News at the time of the song’s release. “Even though you move on and meet new people, you always remember that first person.”

In 2005, “My Boo” picked up Grammy nominations for best R&B song and best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals. It won the latter, while Keys earned the Grammy in the former category for “You Don’t Know My Name,” the lead single off her sophomore album, The Diary of Alicia Keys.
