The Princess of Wales‘ uncle Gary Goldsmith was a Celebrity Big Brother housemate for a less than a week before he was booted out last night after the toe-curling antics of the Middleton family ‘black sheep’ left viewers grimacing.
The outspoken brother of Kate’s mother Carole Middleton joined the cast of the reality TV show on Monday night, but uncle Gary was the evicted last night as the public voted to save Lauren Simon.
Mr Goldsmith, 58, spilled royal secrets in the Big Brother house which ‘infuriated’ his family, who are going through a hard time as his niece Kate recovers from abdominal surgery.
Speaking in his first interview on Late & Live, Gary said: ‘I’ve had the best time, I went in with one agenda and I’ve achieved it in five days.
‘I don’t consider myself to be a celebrity, I just happen to be related to someone who is a big celebrity.’

Mr Goldsmith, who made his money in recruitment and was once worth £30million, is thought to have been kept at arm’s length by the Middleton’s in recent years.

This is despite him attending William and Kate’s wedding in London in 2011 and then that of Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton to James Matthews in Berkshire six years later.
Mr Goldsmith regularly speaks out to support Kate, who is thought to call him ‘Uncle G’, and has previously hailed her as ‘the most spectacular person I have ever met’.
Kate’s mother had harsh words for her brother before he entered the Big Brother house amid fears that he could reveal secrets about the Royal Family. An insider told The Sun: ‘Gary said he’s been read the riot act by Kate’s mum Carole and her dad Michael. They aren’t happy he’s going into Celebrity Big Brother. It is infuriating to them. Kate doesn’t need this stress.’
During Monday’s explosive launch episode as Gary prepared to enter the house, host AJ Odudu wasted no time in asking him whether his royal niece would be tuning in. Gary joked: ‘She will be hiding behind the sofa if she is watching’.

He was also asked about the Princess of Wales’ health. He replied: ‘She’s getting the best care in the world and all the family has done is put the wagons around and look after family.

On Wednesday’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother, Mr Goldsmith revealed that he hates when his niece Kate is referred to as ‘common’.
He also said that he and the Princess of Wales’ mother, his sister, Carole was a multi-millionaire by the age of 30.
On Wednesday’s episode, Gary was chatting about his family with TV presenter Fern Britton when the topic of his family came up.

‘Really?’ Fern said, sounding shocked. Gary nodded and said they earned their wealth from a variety of sources.

‘Look at all those posh people who are skint,’ Fern said. ‘With big houses,’ Gary added.

The businessman then insisted that he has no interest in being a celebrity himself.
He said: ‘If I could show people I’m not that person. I’ve really put myself out there because this isn’t my world.

Gary has been married four times and was convicted in 2017 of assaulting his fourth wife, Julie-Ann.
He pleaded guilty to one count of assault by beating and was fined £5,000 and handed a 12-month community order with 20 sessions of rehabilitation.
Gary then admits: ‘It’s difficult to get hold of Kate at the best of times, and she’s got children and I love the fact that she’s putting family first.’

In his introductory video as he entered the Celebrity Big Brother house, Mr Goldsmith revealed the unexpected question he was asked by Prince William the first time they met.
In the short clip, Mr Goldsmith says: ‘I’m Gary Goldsmith, the uncle to the future queen of our country. Catherine is the current Princess of Wales. She is simply perfect.
‘The first time I met William, Catherine was cooking, and William said, “hi, do you want a cup of tea?”.’
In his video, Mr Goldsmith says people often consider him ‘a bit of a bad boy’, and that going on the show will be ‘lovely to put the record straight’.
