Lil Wayne gave $200,000 to rebuild a New Orleans park following Katrina in 2005. Weezy gave because he played in the park as a kid and hoped it would inspire future musicians.
Wayne filmed a “Ball” music video with T.I. in this park in 2012.
The 2010 Haiti earthquake 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed over 300,000 people and left over 1 m.i.ll..io.n. homeless. Lil Wayne sang on the charity tune “We Are The World 25 For Haiti”.
The February 12, 2010 charity single by Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie reworked the 1985 “We Are The World” song. The music video above promoted the single.
Kanye West, Miley Cyrus, Barbra Streisand, Pink, Celine Dion, Justin Bieber, Enrique Iglesias, and 40 more feature on “We Are The World 25 For Haiti”. Ronda Austin’s mother Evelyn received a Quantum 6000 wheelchair from Lil Wayne in 2010. Weezy recorded Bob Dylan’s “We Are The World” vocals for the tune and joked about it in an interview. Weezy met Ronda through her letters at Rikers.
Ronda described her family and fandom in these letters to Wayne. Tune then called to offer to assist her and her father get Evelyn a wheelchair.

Distributes Thanksgiving Turkeys annually
In New Orleans, Lil Wayne and Cash Money Records give free Thanksgiving turkeys every year. City families receive 1,000 turkeys from Weezy and the CMB crew for the holidays.

Open New Orleans TRUKSTOP Skate Park
On September 26, 2012, Lil Wayne and Mountain Dew established a skate park in Lower 9th Ward Village, New Orleans. Weezy developed this skate park there because it was one of the worst Katrina-affected neighbourhoods in 2005.

Tie My Hands Saved Soldier
Lander Chappell stepped on an IED while clearing a route in Afghanistan. He was losing bl.,o,od,, his leg, and consciousness.
One of Lander’s m…e.n asked him to sing his favourite song while waiting for doctors. Before help arrived, Chappell and Thicke sang “Tie My Hands” by Lil Wayne.

On September 3, 2013, Lil Wayne performed at a Carter Fund benefit in Phoenix. All performance earnings went to the Carter Fund, which provides US students with after-school programmes.
