Jordan Love sat behind Aaron Rodgers for three years after being a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft, and over that time forged a strong relationship with his predeccesor.

“We have a great relationship,” he said the Thanalysis Show, a podcast hosted by Milwaukee Bucks forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo. “Obviously, I was in the quarterback room with him. When you’re in that room together you’re there every day for multiple hours a day so you build a relationship with everyone in that room. We have a good relationship, and like you said, the comparisons are always going to happen.

Rodgers confirmed that he still messages with Love back in November after the Green Bay Packers quarterback torched the Detroit Lions to the tune of 268 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

“I sent [Love] a message after the Thanksgiving game,” he said on The Pat McAfee Show. “I thought he played awesome. That was a big win.”

Love more than came into his own as the starter, finishing the 2023 season with 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while leading the Packers to a playoff win. The torch has been passed in Green Bay, though it appears Rodgers and Love remained on solid terms through the exchange.
