Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Aren’t Stepping Back From the Spotlight Amid Royal Family Crises

The royal family has a lot on their plate right now while dealing with King Charles III and Kate Middleton’s health crises. While the palace deals with the struggles of their slimmed-down monarchy, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are quietly making their mark across the pond.

The Duke and Duchess of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 have attended events and supported charities along the way, but fans are only finding out about it after they happened. Their subtle PR is allowing the organizations to benefit from their presence without the drama of the royal family overshadowing these opportunities.

Meghan recently visited the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles to read books to the patients, but nobody caught wind of the event until long after she left the medical campus. The same goes for the couple’s March 21 celebration at the Kinsey African American Art & History Collection at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. It’s been almost two weeks since their visit, but the Instagram snapshots were shared on Tuesday.

Harry and Meghan are doing the work behind the scenes without much fanfare. It’s exactly the type of strategy PR expert Nick Ede recommended to the Daily Mail. “They will be wanting to be careful to not reflect on the past but to look at a clear future with a path towards building them away from ridicule and building themselves as humanitarians, producers, and campaigners,” he explained.

They have also shown support for Kate after she revealed her cancer diagnosis — the statement was sweet and simple. “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family and hope they can do so privately and in peace,” they shared. The Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍es appear to be settling into their new era where staying out of the headlines is the most comfortable place to be.

There will be plenty of time in the spotlight once Meghan officially launches her American Riviera Orchard brand, and the Invictus Games 10th-anniversary celebration happens in May. But until then, Harry and Meghan appear to be taking a softer approach to the work that they are passionate about.
