When she first enrolled at Marlborough College, Princess Kate Middleton was a rather timid girl because she had been bullied at her previous school. When she graduated, she transformed into a confident, active girl who loved sports and was loved by her friends.
Kate moved to Marlborough School in the middle of the 1996 school year after an unhappy time at Downe House School – a school exclusively for girls. At her old school, Kate was often teased by her classmates.
That’s why her parents decided to move their daughter to Marlborough, even though the school was farther from home.
Gemma Williamson – a friend of Kate’s in Marlborough, shared: “She was bullied badly and looked very thin and pale. She’s also not very confident.”

Kate’s teacher – Joan Gall, said the future princess was stressed. “When she entered school, she appeared quite timid and quiet. Joining a big school like Marlborough had its challenges, but she adapted quite quickly. The school is like a big and happy family. We have activities like baking and watching videos.”
At the new school, Kate has more friends and becomes extremely close with her friends on the same hockey team. Every evening, she often gathers with her friends in the common room, eating snacks or watching TV or listening to music.

Another of Kate’s teachers – Ann Patching, said: “Catherine has integrated very quickly. She participates in school activities and loves sports and music.”
Kathryn Solari, a friend in Kate’s biology class, said: “Catherine is very sweet and lovely. She is a good girl, always does the right thing and is very active and hard-working.”
Kate also became co-captain of the school’s tennis team. In addition, she also shines in swimming, high jumping, netball and hockey. Her parents also regularly visit the school and watch their daughter play sports.

Integrating into school and making new friends has helped Kate become more confident. One interesting thing is, she became the dream girl of many male students in school. She also studied extremely hard and achieved straight A’s in chemistry, biology and art when she graduated in 2000.

When she graduated, Kate was known as one of the most famous beauties of her class. In the school’s scrapbook for that school year, Kate was voted “Someone loved by everyone”.
A special thing is that nearly 20 years have passed, she still maintains close relationships with her friends at Marlborough school.
Some became godmothers to Kate’s children and always encouraged her when Kate took on the position of a member of the British Royal Family.
