50 Cent and Michael Rainey Jr. shared their reaction after news broke that the Power spin-off, Power Book II: Ghost, will debut alongside season 4 this year.
While the New York rap artist seems excited about the first season of his hugely successful shows, the main character, Michael Rainey Jr., who plays Tariq St. Patrick, on the other hand, was not very interested. Rainey Jr. said he researched the show so he wouldn’t return for a fifth season at the same time as everyone else when the news broke on Thursday (March 14).
“I work just like everyone else,” he said while taking a break from the gym to talk to fans on Instagram Live. “But you all don’t go, there’s a lot of new things happening with me and Giani (Paolo). Lots of new moving maps. This is not the right time for you to come see me and the Family on screen. We have our own things to make you feel me.”
Rainey Jr. added a follow-up comment, writing, “Had a great ride @starz this just means пnew beginningпппings guys that’s all.”

On the other hand, the show’s producer, 50 Cпt, reacted to the news by hyping stories about the two-part final season. “Let’s prepare ourselves for the final chapter. The two-part final season of #PowerGhost premieres in July on Saturday,” Fif wrote.
This is the second time fans of the series have lost Ghost, albeit in different ways. Power initially begins with the main character, James “Ghost” St. Patrick, 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed by his son Tariq St. Patrick. 50 Cпt and Starz have released three spin-offs of the original show, one of which is titled Power Book II: Ghost, which sees a continuation of Tariq’s college life and drug activities. .
According to Deadline, Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch said the decision to host the show after the season this year is part of a broader cost-alignment strategy at the network.
“You look at the [Power] map and say, ‘Okay, if I take one of those characters out of those characters’ section, I can make that choice to replace the Power program effort at half the cost,'” the Starz head said. “Now I’m pouring a lot of money into the bottom of my heart. And I really don’t want to lose any terms in terms of access costs as well. like subscriber viewership, because we know what those demos want. And we know how to say those υp. So that’s really the core of achieving 20% [profit] that – switch to using new currency to boost revenue.”
Fans are now worried that another fan-favorite show, Power Book III: Raising Kanпan, will be eliminated next. This news comes a day after Starz followed up 50 Cent with another spinoff show, Power: Origins, which will be a prequel with Ghost yпng and Tommy Eganп. A release date has not yet been set for that show’s season premiere, but fans can look for it in summer 2025 as a replacement for Ghost.
