Their romance was short-lived, but it did exist. The Great Gatsby and Gossip Girl star dated for about a year in 2011 when Lively was 23 years old. While the relationship surprised everyone when it happened, it didn’t totally come out of the blue.
For one, in 2007, during an interview with CosmoGIRL, Lively admitted that she had a crush on DiCaprio. However, their relationship wasn’t entirely normal because Gossip Girl showrunner, Joshua Safran, revealed a seemingly disturbing detail from the actress’ side when she was dating DiCaprio.

Gossip Girl’s showrunner, Joshua Safran, revealed to People magazine that Blake Lively had sent images of a doll to Leonardo DiCaprio during their dating period. He said:
“Blake was dating [DiCaprio] at the time, and she had this thing where she had a doll that she took photos of that she sent to Leo.”

Thanks to horror films revolving around dolls, many associate them with creepiness. However, it’s possible that the doll meant something more to Lively and DiCaprio at that time. Neither party has ever shared such intimate details and it doesn’t look like they will do so anytime soon. When their relationship didn’t last long, many from Leo’s camp were surprised.
This is because, as per US Weekly, his friends thought that he had found the one and was ready to settle down after being a bachelor for a long time. While that clearly didn’t happen, DiCaprio apparently did love one s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 of Lively.

But it looks like nothing made that relationship last.
