rmed as the host of new Amazon Prime show ‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?’.
The Kansas City Chiefs star and Taylor Swift‘s boyfriend will front 20 episodes of the new show – a spinoff of ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?’ – as he continues to add to his growing portfolio of work outside of football.
‘I grew up loving game shows, and I’m excited to be following in the footsteps of so many TV icons by hosting my very first one with “Are you Smarter than a Celebrity?”,’ Kelce said.
‘The original show is a great success, so to be bringing a new format with everyone’s favorite celebrities to the screen, will definitely be entertaining.
‘I’m just happy to be on the hosting side of the equation here and excited to see how these famous faces keep up.’
Travis Kelce has officially been confirmed as the host of ‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?’
The Super Bowl winner and girlfriend Taylor Swift were pictured at Coachella last week
The addition of a game show to his workload comes with Travis juggling being a successful podcaster alongside his NFL career.
The format will see contestants try to answer 11 grade-school-level questions. They’ll be able to call on the assistance of a classroom of celebrities.
If contestants make it to the final question and get it right, they will take home $100,000.
Kelce is currently enjoying some downtime after winning a third Super Bowl title with the Chiefs in Las Vegas in February.
He has since been to Australia and Singapore to support Swift on that leg of her Eras Tour before hanging out with the popstar in Los Angeles.
The couple were hanging out at Coachella last weekend. They watched Taylor’s pal Jack Antonoff’s band, Bleachers, perform at the festival on Saturday and were also seen attending the celeb-packed Neon Carnival bash.
It was the first time Swift has attended the music festival since 2016 while Kelce was seen at the event in 2022 and 2023 with some of his friends.
Kelce is already a successful podcast host but is now making the move into television
Travis is set to reveal all about his Coachella trip in the latest New Heights episode on Wednesday morning.
It promises to be a packed edition for their many fans, as they also reflect on hosting a live show in Cincinnati last Thursday night.
Kelce, 34, was crticized for downing a beer on stage at the end of the event, while he was being awarded his diploma by the University of Cincinnati.
It prompted a defensive tweet by older brother Jason on Saturday, saying: ‘I know it looks like a graduation from the video, but this was actually at the end of a New Heights Live podcast that we put on to raise money for the University’s NIL.
‘The university did this to poke fun at my brother and I for never really picking up our diplomas.’
For Swift, meanwhile, a big week lies ahead as her massively anticipated new album – The Tortured Poets Department – is released on Friday.
