It’s a wrap at the 2024 Met Gala — but the annual fashion extravaganza feels somewhat incomplete without some of its biggest names gracing the Met steps this year.
That’s certainly the case for fan-favorite “Queen of the Met Gala” Blake Lively, a no-show Monday night’s fashion fundraiser at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The “Gossip Girl” alum’s absence marks her and husband Ryan Reynolds’ second in a row, which left fans extremely disappointed.

Instead of stepping out for the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”-themed ball, the couple decided to stay home with their four children for a night of quality family time, according to Elle.

“BlakeLively not being at the Met Gala basically just fizzles the event. Honestly, they shouldn’t have it unless @blakelively is in attendance. It’s her show, everyone else is just a guest,” one fan wrote on X.

Another wrote, “pretending to not care Blake Lively isn’t there to save the night #MetGala,” while a third added, “the met gala can’t be over yet cause where’s blake lively.”

Lively, who co-chaired the event in 2022 alongside the “Deadpool” actor, 47, has been out and about in NYC this month, prompting speculation that she was set to attend Monday’s red carpet.
The “A Simple Favor” actress, 36, attended a star-studded party at Tiffany & Co.’s NYC flagship store last week — which she ultimately let be her big May fashion moment.
The couple reportedly decided to stay home with their four children for a night of quality family time.
Lively opted for a blue beaded look at the launch of the Tiffany Titan by Pharrell Williams collection, teaming her look up with two diamond bird brooches — one featuring a massive yellow diamond drop weighing in at more than 16 carats — to her dress.
She put a unique spin on a massive diamond and blue cuprian Elbaite tourmaline necklace for the event, choosing to wear it wrapped around her wrist like a bracelet.
The “Shallows” actress added sparkling diamond drop earrings and three bold rings to her ensemble, including a yellow diamond sparkler with a six-plus carat center stone.

Lively kept the Tiffany blue theme going with embellished Gucci heels, wearing her blond hair in glamorous curls and accenting her features with bright pink lipstick.
But Lively wasn’t the only big name missing from Monday’s star-studded line-up.
Fellow Met Gala fave Rihanna was forced to skip the fashion festivities at the eleventh hour after coming down with the flu following her trip to Miami for the F1 Grand Prix over the weekend.

Elsewhere, Jared Leto missed out on this year’s Met Gala due to his band 30 Seconds to Mars’ “Seasons World Tour.”
The “it” couple of the year, aka Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, were also notably absent from the Met steps — despite both receiving invitations.
The “A Simple Favor” actress, 36, attended a star-studded party at Tiffany & Co.’s NYC flagship store last week.
Swift could not attend due to her “Eras” tour picking back up on May 6 in Paris.
Other Met Gala favorites including Lady Gaga, Hailey Bieber, and Bella Hadid were also absent from Monday’s event.
