While Francis Ngannou will face Anthony Joshua on the 8th of March, Tyson Fury will square off against Oleksandr Usyk on May 18th. In this context, ahead of the massive events scheduled for March and May, Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, and Francis Ngannou spent time with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo and the architect of Riyadh Season, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh. But, as ‘The Gypsy King’ posed alongside Ronaldo and the rest, several fans doubted Fury to be as tall as 6′ 9″.
In his professional career, Tyson Fury dismantled several tough fighters due to his phenomenal height. On that note, Shakur Stevenson had also claimed that Fury would beat Muhammad Ali as ‘The Double Greatest’ was six inches shorter than ‘The Gypsy King’. But fans raised an eyebrow as Michael Benson shared a picture from Saudi Arabia.
Boxing fans aren’t convinced Tyson Fury is 6′ 9″
Besides his IQ, his height and reach advantage against his opponents make Tyson Fury the successful Heavyweight boxer he currently is. Apart from allowing Fury to maintain a safe distance in his fights, a reach of 216cm has always helped ‘The Gypsy King’ to make apt use of his jabs and straight hands. For example, when Fury faced Dillian Whyte, against Whyte’s 11.1%, Fury landed 20.3% of his jabs. On the other hand, Fury landed 27.9% of his jabs against Derek Chisora’s 23.4% in their trilogy. But, when Michael Benson shared a photo of Tyson Fury with other stars in Saudi Arabia, fans were not convinced about Fury being 6′ 9″.
Replying to Benson’s post, a fan alleged that Fury lied about being 6′ 9″.
On the other hand, one thought Fury was standing on his toes to look like he was 6′ 9″.
Similarly, one said they would start doing “that Fury tip toe pose in photos“.
Meanwhile, provided the photo, one thought Fury, who believes boxing is dead without Saudis, could not be eight inches taller than Ronaldo.
