Chicago Sky rookie and former LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese is raising eyebrows after dropping a startling message about her personal safety.
Reese, 22, is one of the most popular players in women’s basketball right now. She’s landed dozens of high-profile endorsements since being taken with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. She even attended the 2024 Met Gala.
Reese’s stardom has sparked a major concern about her safety. Now more than ever, female celebrities need security. And while it’s possible the Chicago Sky are doing what they can to protect her, the organization needs to step things up.
Reese dropped a startling message about her safety in Chicago over the weekend. Apparently, someone took a photo of her vehicle before posting it on social media.
“i think taking a picture of somebody car & posting it on social media is the weirdest thing ever,” said Reese. “having security or not i just wanna know what do you get from that??”

That’s not normal behavior. Angel Reese needs to be protected at all costs.
Fortunately, the WNBA is taking the proper steps to ensure their players are taken care of. Instead of taking public flights to travel to and from games, the WNBA is implementing private flights for the entire league. That’s an important step to ensure players like Reese and No. 1 overall WNBA Draft pick Caitlin Clark are protected.
Reese and the Sky start the 2024 season on May 15 vs. the Dallas Wings.
