‘She’s the food police!’ Madonna, 56, admits she has to pay an aide to remind her to eat because she is so busy preparing for her upcoming world tour
Madonna is no stranger to the punishing schedule that comes along with an international tour, however, preparations for her upcoming Rebel Heart shows have become so time consuming, the iconic singer has revealed that she hired someone to follow her around the clock to make sure that she is eating.
The 56-year-old star, who is kicking off her Rebel Heart tour on September 9 in Montreal, sat down with Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen to talk about the tour shows, admitting that she has been spending 10 to 12 hours a day prepping for the series of performances and was actually forced to enlist an aide to make sure she remembers to eat enough.
‘I call her the food police,’ Madonna tells Andy in the interview that appears in Entertainment Weekly. ‘”Are you eating? Did you drink enough water?” I’m like: “B***h, get off my pole!”‘

Madonna is known for keeping her age-defying body trimmed and toned with a strict diet and exercise, but now it’s clear that she also relies on a staffer to make sure she doesn’t wither away while perfecting her strenuous dance routines.
The Material Girl has teased her upcoming tour with behind-the-scenes clips she shared on her YouTube channel, and footage shows plenty of choreography, including a group of dancers swinging on stripper poles while dressed like nuns.
‘I just like the juxtaposition,’ Madonna says. ‘I’m very immersed in deconstructing the concept of 𝓈ℯ𝓍uality and religion and how it’s not supposed to go together, but in my world it goes together.’

And while Madonna is looking forward to showcase her new songs, the Material Girl knows that her fans are expecting performances of her most iconic hits as well.
‘Of course, the thing I’m most excited about doing is my new stuff, because I haven’t done it yet and it’s fresh,’ she explains. ‘But I realize that people want to hear my older stuff, so for me it’s always a tricky balance trying to keep some kind of continuity, not only with sound, sonically, but also thematically.
She adds: ‘A lot of times I have to take the songs and turn them inside out and make them more ironic than straightforward.’
Andy also questioned whether Madonna’s break dancing son Rocco, 14, would be hitting the stage with her, but the singer said he will most likely work behind the scenes because ‘he’s not interested’ in dancing alongside his mom.
‘Your mom is not that cool when you’re 14,’ she explained.
While preparing for her tenth world tour, Madonna has been taking to her Instagram account and sharing rare behind-the-scenes images from the show with her 4.4 million followers.
