Elizabeth Hurley plans to collaborate with her son Damian on a new film, but she will not be starring in it.

The mother-son combo made news earlier this year following the release of Damian’s directorial debut, Strictly Confidential. The actress, 58, engaged in a hot lesbian 𝓈ℯ𝓍 scene with her 28-year-old costar Pear Chiravara.

Critics slammed the controversial thriller, calling it a ‘horrendous drama’ that resembled a ‘daytime soap opera.’

But, in a new interview, Damian stated that his mother is already on board with his next film, although as a producer, while Elizabeth responded to the backlash over her steamy sequences.

I’ve written the following script…Damian, 22, told Social Life magazine, “It’s a movie we are putting together right now.”

The pair have made headlines in recent weeks following the release of Damian’s directorial debut, Strictly Confidential, which was ultimately panned by critics

Elizabeth quickly interjected: ‘I won’t be in this one. I will be a producer on it, though.’

In Damian’s directorial debut, Elizabeth plays a mother called Lily who welcomes her daughter’s friends to her Caribbean estate the year after the mysterious deaths of her daughter and her husband.

A number of secrets are revealed during the trip, including Lily’s love affair with her daughter’s female friend.

Of the steamy scene between the pair, Elizabeth previously told TooFab: ‘Well, it was a very important part of storytelling, when Mia, our protagonist, is on this quest to find out why her best friend [Elizabeth’s character’s daughter] 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed herself.

‘It was so integral to [the storytelling] that the actual physical filming of it wasn’t even something we talked about really. We just knew that the impact it would have on the story and the rest was just our job.’

She insisted the scene is not simply included for shock value, adding she always stays away from movies that have salacious moments to stun the audience.

Speaking to Social Life Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Devorah Rose for the Memorial Day Cover Story, Elizabeth explained that the scene was nowhere near as scandalous as it seemed.

‘Damian had this idea that you can make something so sensual and interesting without actually having nudity, and not a lot of people would have thought of that,’ the Bedazzled star stated.

‘There has been so much hoo-ha about these scenes. But actually, there’s nothing gratuitous in it — no gratuitous nudity whatsoever — and I really appreciated that.’

Damian added: ‘I think there is definitely a time and place for nudity in film, but I’ve actually never liked it in 𝓈ℯ𝓍 scenes. I think it’s so much more effective to have someone nude walking around having coffee in the morning in a scene.

‘I just don’t like toplessness for the sake of toplessness or nudity for the sake of nudity when it doesn’t need to be there.’

Elizabeth, whose film credits include Austin Powers and Bedazzled, appeared to criticize bad fathers as she praised her son for swapping gender roles in Strictly Confidential.

Their next movie will not feature the young director directing his mother; she has indicated that she will only be involved behind the scenes as a producer.

Damian changed the plot such that the father died and just the wife remained.

‘Well, it’s quite an intriguing thing when you alter the gender of the part because it changes everything,’ Elizabeth observed. ‘One of the most striking changes was that it was more painful for the mother to break her daughter’s trust.

‘Damian gave me a terrific part since it’s something new to watch. I never want to see a father behaving horribly again, in real life or in fiction.

Elizabeth had her only child during a brief romance with American film producer Steve Bing, shortly after splitting from Hugh Grant in 2000.

She gave birth to Damian in 2002, but the businessman denied paternity, claiming they were not in an intimate relationship at the time.

Although a DNA test confirmed that Steve was Damian’s father, he did not become a part of his life, and they are believed to have never met.

The millionaire died in 2020 after jumping from the 27th level of his Los Angeles apartment building.
