Russell Wilson is set to enter the 2024 season as the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Imagine saying that sentence a year ago this time???
It’s a crazy world we live in and here we are … Sean Payton decided to pull the painful plug on the failed Wilson experiment in Denver. Now in Pittsburgh, Wilson will hope to resurrect his career with the mighty Steelers.

Some Steeler fans are excited for Wilson. Some think he’s completely washed-up. While others are hoping for Justin Fields to win the starting job.
Either way, the 2024 season certainly won’t lack for drama in Pittsburgh.
There is one trusted voice who has come forward and is trying to convince the Steeler faithful that Wilson has enough left in the tank to lead Pittsburgh to a SUPER BOWL.
That’s right, the Super Bowl … And that voice is none other than former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf!!!
Listen, he may be one of the biggest draft busts of all-time, but he knows much more football than people give him credit for.
Appearing on “Up & Adams,” Leaf confidently declared that Wilson retains the capability to be a Super Bowl-caliber quarterback.
Leaf also expressed his belief that the Steelers, with Wilson at the helm and under the guidance of offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, are poised to be legitimate contenders this season.
“Watch out for the Steelers,” Leaf emphasized. “I think Russ has still every bit of being a Super Bowl champion quarterback in him. Nobody else does. I think he’s going to shock a lot of people with Arthur Smith and what they do with that offense.”

Leaf highlighted the competitive nature of the Steelers’ brutal division, acknowledging the challenges the AFC North will pose.
“They were right there a year ago. But that division is so darn good,” Leaf stated.
Besides the ruthless division, the Steelers also have the third-toughest schedule in the entire NFL next season.
In other words, the road would be bumpy no matter who was under center.

It’s still bizarre to think about just how far Wilson has fallen as a quarterback.
It wasn’t THAT long ago that he was a perennial MVP candidate capable of putting a team on his back and carrying them to victory.
You could make the argument that no player in NFL history has fallen off a cliff faster than Wilson.

Having said that, Wilson still has time to change the narrative … The ball is in his court.
At 35-years-old, the clock is clearly ticking. There’s a very real chance that 2024 will be Wilson’s last chance to prove himself.
It would be foolish to not realize that his best playing days are behind him. But perhaps he does have another Super Bowl run left in him. Especially since he now has the luxury of starting fresh in a stable organization.
