Jared Padalecki’s appearance in The Boys appears to be unavoidable based on recent comments from the show’s creator. Based on the long-running comic series of the same name, The Boys is a blockbuster Prime Video series that chronicles the story of The Seven, a group of superpowered antiheroes who go on a series of missions to either save or destroy the planet. Padalecki is a well-known television actor, best recognized for his role as Sam Winchester in the hit supernatural fantasy series Supernatural.
According to Entertainment Weekly, The Boys creator Eric Kripke teases a future Padalecki cameo in the series. The creator clearly implied that a Padalecki appearance had been discussed, even claiming that “texts have been sent.” Kripke proposed that Padalecki should be able to appear in The Boys, “even if it’s just for one episode.” He speculated that Padalecki would have time as Walker closes up. Check out Kripke’s complete quote below:
“Texts have been sent. I feel like it would be a bummer to not have Jared on the show one way or another at this point, even if it’s just the one-episode thing. He’s been shooting Walker, but with that show wrapping up, maybe he’ll have some time to come in and play with us. I would love it. We have definitely talked about it.”
Why Now Is the Right Time For Padalecki To Appear On The Boys
Padalecki Has Strong Ties To Kripke
This is not the first time that Padalecki appearing on The Boys has been suggested. Back in 2022, Jensen Ackles along with Kripke floated the idea of Padalecki making a cameo on the show. This suggestion came about because Padalecki’s former Supernatural co-star, Jensen Ackles, starred in The Boys season 3. Kripke is also the creator of Supernatural, so the trio have a long history together. Ever since the suggestion of the actor’s appearance on the show, there have been theories circulating as to who Padalecki might be able to play in The Boys season 4, though no official appearance has been announced.
Kripke’s recent commentary also comes after two vital announcements. On Padalecki’s side, it was recently revealed that his hit show Walker will end after season 4. With Padalecki wrapping up filming, the actor will have more availability with no more Walker episodes coming down the pike. On The Boys end of things, the series was recently renewed for season 5, prior to the debut of The Boys season 4.
With The Boys season 4 coming in just three weeks, it seems unlikely that Padalecki’s cameo will come in this upcoming season. Because the show has already secured a renewal, however, a cameo for Padalecki at some point, especially in The Boys season 5 seems possible. Kripke floated a single-episode appearance for Padalecki, though this was before the announcement of Walker’s cancellation. With the actor free from Walker obligations, perhaps he could even become a recurring character in The Boys season 5 if the show is given time to properly incorporate him.
