We all will agree that meeting your partner’s parents for the first time is, Uhmmm, awkward. Well, it is obvious! After all, you only get one chance to make an everlasting impression on your lover’s parents and they are the ones, who will decide whether you will get the chance to tie the knot with them or not. And Bollywood actress-turned-Hollywood diva, Priyanka Chopra’s hubby and American singing sensation, Nick Jonas has gone through the same.

Before we take you further into the story, let us take a look back at Nick and Priyanka’s love story. In the winters of 2018, Priyanka and Nick had tied the knot in two grand weddings as per their religions in Umaid Bhawan Palace. Together the duo has celebrated their family’s special occasion to Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s hush-hush wedding. Priyanka has also been keeping Karwa Chauth fast for Nick and the singer happily respects his wife’s side of the rituals.

Recently, in interaction with Shobhaa De at the virtual edition of the Jaipur Literature Festival, Priyanka Chopra opened up on her then-beau and now-husband, Nick Jonas’ first meeting with her mother, Madhu Chopra. Priyanka recalled the hilarious incident when Nick had met Madhu ji for the first time, that too in nightwear. The gorgeous actress said, “It was not supposed to be an introduction to parents. I forgot that she’d be up. And she still teases me about it. I forgot to call her because it was 1 o’clock at night and we were like 10 minutes away. So by the time we took the decision of coming to my house, we were already there.”

She further added, “My mother was so shocked! It was 1 o’clock at night, she is wearing is nightie and we won’t forget this because it was weird for me as well. You are bringing a guy home, it was like kind of strange, and she jumps out of bed terrified. She was like, “Oh! One second”. She goes to her bathroom and starts wearing lipstick. She calls me in and says, “Why didn’t you tell me? I am not going to come out!” I said if you are not coming out then why are you putting your lipstick on?”

It was the summer of  2018, when Nick and Priyanka’s love rumours had become the hot topic for the media mils. The couple had left the entire world jealous when they were spotted attending multiple events together. From watching Beauty and the Beast live in Los Angeles to a fun-filled boat ride with their best friends, the entire world wanted to know what was brewing between the two. And in July 2018, Nick had popped the question and had asked for Priyanka’s hand in the most romantic way and that was the start of their beautiful affair.

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Priyanka had revealed how she wanted to take up Nick Jonas’ name. She had said, “I always wanted to add his name to mine because I feel, like, you know, we’re becoming a family and I’m a little traditional and old school like that. But it didn’t take away my identity. He gets added to who I am.”
