Eddie Hearn Waves Off Joshua-Froch Drama: ‘It’s Not That Deep,’ Shocking Dismissal.

Anthony Joshua and Carl Froch have recently been at odds after ‘AJ’ labeled his countryman a “pr*ck” during a word-association game he played while being interviewed. The pair had previously traded words, but Joshua’s recent jibe has reignited their feud.

However, Joshua’s longtime promoter has wafted away concerns about the tiff turning into anything serious. Eddie Hearn did share that the longer the beef continued the more unnecessary it would become, but the Matchroom Boxing chairman did not appear overly concerned about the beef.

Hearn was recently interviewed by iFL TV, where he shared his thoughts on the spat between the pair of British boxing legends, saying this:

“I wouldn’t even get involved. It’s not that deep… Of course [it’s been blown out of proportion]. But Froch said something, ‘AJ’ said something back, whatever. Carl is very stubborn. By doing that, sometimes you just make it even worse or blow it further than it needs to be. They don’t agree with what each other have said, alright, move on. Two great fighters, two massive assets to British boxing, hopefully it evaporates soon.”

Carl Froch slams Daniel Dubois vs. Anthony Joshua being for the IBF world title

Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois are set to clash for the vacant IBF title on 21 Sept., with Oleksandr Usyk vacating the belt to avoid being stripped for not fighting the IBF mandatory challenger next – Dubois.

The pair of British heavyweights recently shared a sit down alongside their respective promoters, Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren, where tensions almost spilled over into a brawl.

Despite his recent war of words with ‘AJ’, Carl Froch has predicted Joshua to defeat the interim IBF title holder. During his heavyweight title breakdown, ‘Cobra’ also explained why does not agree with the fight being contested for the vacant IBF title, saying this:

“Listen, I don’t see how this fight is for an IBF world title. I don’t see how, who wins this fight gets their hand held high holding that lovely red and gold belt. I don’t know, it should be for an interim title. It’d be good if it was for the British title… This is two British fighters who have lost to the champion, Usyk. The IBF world title for me, didn’t need to be vacated.”
